🌟 Meet the Brisbane Region's 2026 Student Voice representatives! 🌟

We're excited to welcome an incredible group of students from across our Brisbane campuses who have stepped forward to represent their peers through our Student Voice program.

Student Voice allows students to help shape and improve the TAFE Queensland experience by sharing feedback, collaborating with staff, participating in surveys, forums and events, and contributing ideas that drive positive change.

It's also a great way to build leadership, communication and employability skills, expand professional networks, and make a real difference for current and future students.

From nursing and cyber security to community services, early childhood education and information technology, our Student Voice members bring a diverse range of experiences, ideas and perspectives that will help shape the future of learning at TAFE Queensland.

A special shout-out to Oleg and Neishe, who recently joined our team at the Brisbane Careers & Employment Expo.

They did an outstanding job sharing their TAFE Queensland journey and inspiring future students. Thank you also to the staff who supported them throughout the event.

There are plenty of exciting opportunities ahead for our Student Voice members, including:
πŸ“… Orientation Week (6–10 July)
πŸ“… NAIDOC Week (5–12 July)
πŸ“… TSXPO Brisbane (17–18 July)
πŸ“… TAFE Queensland Brisbane Open Day (1 August)
πŸ“… R U OK? Day (10 September)

Some of these students may be in your classroom right now, so we encourage our staff and student community to support and celebrate their involvement.

Dreaming of a career in live music, festivals or event production? πŸŽΆπŸŽ›οΈ

At TAFE Queensland, our Sound Production students don't just learn in the classroom – they gain real-world industry experience at major events like Blues on Broadbeach.

Recently, students studying the Diploma of Music – Sound Production worked alongside industry professionals from IJS Productions Australia Pty Ltd, gaining hands-on experience in live audio, lighting, stage operations and event production across one of Australia's premier music festivals.

From backstage band changeovers to front-of-house mixing and live production logistics, students experienced firsthand what it takes to deliver a world-class event while building valuable industry connections and practical skills employers are looking for.

Even better, many of the professionals mentoring students were former TAFE Queensland graduates who have gone on to successful careers in the live entertainment industry.

If you're passionate about music, technology and live events, TAFE Queensland can help you turn that passion into a career.

🌟 Our Caboolture youth work students are making a real difference in the community!

During Youth Week 2026, students from our Certificate IV in Youth Work stepped into the heart of the action at Thrive Moreton Bay in Deception Bay, supporting young people and families at this fantastic community celebration.

Hosted by Younity Community Services at Apex Park, the event brought together children, young people, families and local support services for a day full of music, activities, food and fun πŸŽΆπŸŽ‰

Our students gained valuable hands-on experience by helping set up the event, interviewing around 100 young people for a youth survey, and running a popular make-your-own stress ball activity.

Most importantly, they were able to build industry connections, grow their professional networks and see first-hand the positive impact youth workers have in helping young people feel heard, supported and connected πŸ’™

We’re so proud to support opportunities like this that prepare our students with the real-world skills needed for rewarding careers in the community services sector.
