Today, Duhig House proudly celebrated our annual Orange Day. Together, we walked in solidarity to recognise and honour the incredible work of Orange Sky and the support they provide to people experiencing homelessness and hardship.
Our House Leaders led a meaningful assembly before students and staff participated in a walk around the College ovals, demonstrating our commitment to this important cause.
During first break, a sausage sizzle was held to raise additional funds for Orange Sky. Mrs Mancini and Mr Valentine are delighted to announce that over the year Duhig House has raised more than $2,000, which will contribute to the vital services and support that Orange Sky provides to communities across Australia.

🌟 Student Success 🌟
We are so proud of Carys, who competed in the final of the Mayor’s Telstra Innovation Awards last night and was awarded Third Place for her incredible idea! 👏
Carys impressed the judges with her innovative concept to harness solar power to provide free charging stations in public spaces such as benches, train stations, bus stations and even buses across Moreton Bay, an idea focused on sustainability and community benefit. 🌱⚡
As part of her achievement, Carys received a $1000 JB Hi-Fi gift card and a valuable mentoring session with Future Anything to further develop her idea.
An outstanding example of innovation, determination and leadership in action, well done, Carys! 💙

Parent Communication is getting an upgrade!
Parent communication that used to go through Parent Slips will now be sent through InForm!
InForm is Brisbane Catholic Education’s secure, digital system that schools use to send important communications and collect parent and carer consent online. Forms are delivered directly to families by email or through the BCE Connect app, making it easier to stay informed and respond when required. InForm ensures information is sent to the right people, responses are recorded accurately, and student details are protected, with completed forms saved for easy reference - making school communication simpler, faster and more secure for families.

Our Year 7 Food students have been cooking up a storm in the kitchens! 👩🍳
Throughout the term, students have been learning how to create nutritious meals suitable for young adolescents to help fuel learning, growth and wellbeing across all meals of the day.
It has been wonderful to see their excitement and confidence grow as they develop practical life skills they can take home to cook for their families and support healthier choices into the future!
