🐣✨ Easter Week Fun at Our Family Daycare ✨🐣

We’ve been having such a joyful and creative Easter week! 💛

The children loved decorating their own Easter eggs using soft fabrics exploring different patterns and creating beautiful little masterpieces. 🎨🥚

We also painted Easter bunnies using white paint and cotton buds to create coloured dots which was a fun way to develop fine motor skills while getting creative. 🐰✨

And of course, lots of music and movement with our homemade egg shakers – shake, shake, shake! 🎶🥚

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been exploring the weather with a special focus on sunshine ☀️ and rain 🌧️

The children have been spending time outdoors, observing the sky and using their senses to experience how the weather feels from the warmth of the sun to the cool drops of rain.

To extend this learning, we engaged in a variety of hands-on activities:
💧 Pouring water to represent raindrops, exploring movement and cause & effect
☁️ Creating cloud collages using cotton and adding paper raindrop shapes
🌞 Painting a beautiful spiral blue sky with a bright sun shining around it

These experiences encouraged creativity, sensory exploration, and a deeper understanding of the world around us

Carnaval party today at daycare! 🎉✨

A day filled with joy, laughter and lots of happy smiles! 💛💚💙

Art and Craft Today: Handprint Clown 🎨🤡

Today our art and craft activity was a colourful handprint clown, representing the vibrant costumes we wear during Carnaval. The children used their handprints to create the clown’s hair and costume, exploring bright colours, different textures, and creative designs.

Through this experience, the children developed their fine motor skills, creativity, and understanding of cultural traditions.

It’s that time again — Carnaval in Brazil! 🇧🇷✨

This week, the children are exploring Brazilian culture and learning about the vibrant traditions that make Carnaval so special.

Today’s activity was inspired by a traditional Brazilian dance called Frevo, the children created their own colourful umbrellas, painting them beautifully and decorating them with ribbons. They were so focused and creative, and each umbrella turned out unique and full of personality!

What is Frevo? ⛱️💃
Frevo is a lively and energetic dance style that originated in Recife, Brazil. It is known for its fast music, acrobatic movements, and the small, bright umbrellas used by dancers as part of the performance. Frevo is an important part of Brazilian Carnaval celebrations and represents joy, creativity, and cultural expression.

Valentine’s Week at Daycare 💖

This week we’ve been celebrating love, friendship and kindness through fun, hands-on experiences!

❤️ Love Heart Stamping: The children explored colours and patterns while creating beautiful heart prints.

🎨 Paint & Collage Love Hearts: We used paint, paper to design our own unique hearts.

🫧 Bubble Foam Sensory Play: A big highlight of the week! The children explored soft, colourful foam through scooping, mixing and imaginative play.

Refreshing drinks for hot days ! ☀️🥤

🦜The children helped fill the bird tray with seeds and sand, encouraging care for nature and extending their understanding of local wildlife. 🍃

Investigating and exploring: Where do Australian animals live?
The children were curious to discover whether animals live in water or in the bush/forest.

This week, to celebrate Australia Day, during this week we are exploring Australian animals and the environment, giving the little ones opportunities to learn about their country.

Today’s focus was the Australian wattle tree 🌼

Pizza play dough fun 🍕
The children made a flat base, chose their favourite toppings, and created their own yummy pizza masterpieces!
