The adults they remember aren’t always the ones with the perfect advice. They’re the ones who made them feel safe enough to ask questions.
Girls learn about their bodies long before anyone sits down for „the talk“. They learn by watching the adults around them. The words we use, the comments we make, the way we treat ourselves all become part of the story they tell themselves.
The Rites of Passage Institute
The Institute helps people discover their passion and purpose through healthy transitions.
This one is another one from the archives - we filmed this just before our last Mother Daughter Camp, and we’re so excited to finally introduce the last two members of the incredible team who’ll also be holding the space at our upcoming September camp.
Meet Oceanna and Louise 💗
Together with the rest of our facilitation team, they’ll help create a safe, supportive and unforgettable experience for every mother and daughter who joins us.

Rites of Passage involve the whole family and community.
When a boy goes through this experience, so does his mother, father, siblings, aunts and uncles, grandparents, peers and other important people in their lives.
Its’a life-changing experience that impacts families and communities in tangible, subtle and profound ways.
We're living through a time of significant change. And we need people who know how to guide others through these life-changing thresholds.
That's what this training is for. You'll learn the Rites of Passage framework, experience it firsthand and take it back to your life, your family, and your work. It’s for anyone wanting to be an agent of change and to support others - parents, teachers, social workers, coaches, and community leaders.

Not every boy who comes to Making of Men attends with his father.
Sometimes it’s an uncle. A grandfather. A stepdad. A mentor. A family friend. Someone who chooses to stand beside him during one of life’s most important transitions.
This conversation with an uncle and his nephew is a beautiful reminder that what matters most isn’t the title. It’s showing up.
At Making of Men, we welcome the men who are already making a difference in a young person’s life, because every boy deserves someone willing to walk alongside him.
If you’ve been wondering whether your son needs to attend with his dad, the answer is no. What matters is having a trusted male role model who is willing to share the journey.
If you have questions about who can attend, send us a DM. We’re always happy to help.
This November, we’re heading to one of Victoria’s most beautiful locations for our next Leadership Training Level.
Nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, Toorongo Valley Estate in Noojee, Victoria provides the perfect setting to step away from the demands of everyday life and immerse yourself in three days of learning, growth and connection.
Over the weekend you’ll:
• Learn the Rites of Passage framework
• Experience your own rite of passage
• Break through limiting beliefs and blindspots
• Connect with like-minded leaders from across Australia
• Learn from our highly experienced teaching team
Whether you’re a parent, educator, facilitator, youth worker or someone passionate about making a meaningful impact, this training will equip you with tools and insights that extend far beyond the weekend.

September is getting closer, and our facilitator team is already coming together to prepare for another unforgettable Mother & Daughter Camp.
Meet Kate and Mandy, two of the incredible women who’ll be helping create a safe, supportive and welcoming space for every mother and daughter who joins us.
As our team reconnects, reflects and prepares for camp, there’s one feeling that keeps coming up... excitement. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to beautiful Byron Bay and share another weekend of meaningful conversations, connection, laughter and growth.
If you’re joining us in September, we can’t wait to meet you. And if you’ve been thinking about coming but still have questions, our DMs are always open 💛
„One thing I’ve found working with young women is that so many have questions that go unanswered.“
Questions about their bodies.
Their menstrual cycles.
Hormones.
Emotions.
What’s normal... and what’s not.
For many girls, these conversations either never happen or are reduced to a quick lesson in the classroom. But understanding your body is about so much more than biology. It’s about confidence, self respect and feeling at home in yourself.
That’s why Caitlin is so passionate about working with young women. She believes every girl deserves trusted adults who are willing to answer the questions she’s too embarrassed to ask and create spaces where curiosity is welcomed, not judged.
Because when girls understand their bodies, they’re more likely to trust them.
And that’s something every young woman deserves 🤍
One of the most beautiful parts of every Mother Daughter Camp is watching the girls slowly soften 🦋
They arrive carrying all sorts of things. Pressure to fit in. Self doubt. Worries about not being enough. The feeling that they need to have it all figured out.
Then, little by little, something shifts.
When they’re surrounded by other girls, supported by caring women, and given permission to simply be themselves, you see their confidence begin to grow. The laughter gets louder. The smiles become more genuine. The masks start to fall away.
As Mandy shares in this video, it’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when young people feel truly safe, accepted and seen.
Every girl deserves a space where she can discover that she doesn’t need to change who she is to belong.
Our next Mother Daughter Camp is happening 19–21 September in Byron Bay, and bookings are now open via the link in our bio.
