What an incredible few days at the Derma Aesthetics Beyond the Barrier Conference.
I had the honour of presenting Innovations in Corneotherapy: How Research Drives Results, exploring the evolution of our understanding of the stratum corneum, from the mid-19th century “honeycomb” artefact that misled generations into viewing our outermost layer as dead and functionless, through to Dr Lars Norlén’s groundbreaking cryo-electron microscopy research, revealing the extraordinary molecular organisation of the skin barrier at near-atomic resolution.
To finish with a standing ovation, particularly for my final presentation in my twenties, was a moment I will never forget.
For almost six years, Lisa Paone has jbeen my mentor, educator, confidant and wonderful friend. She has shaped so much of who I am professionally, particularly my confidence as a presenter and educator. Lisa, I genuinely would not be where I am today without your belief, guidance and support. Thank you for all the things. ❤️
It was also incredibly special to have Michael and Martina from dermaviduals Germany with us and to personally receive my renewed dermaviduals Trainer Licence. Renewed every 36 months, it represents our ongoing commitment as educators to continually evolve and uphold the highest standards of dermaviduals education here in Australasia.
An incredible conference, a proud milestone, and a very special way to close out my twenties.
