Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums in our TOGKF Yanchep Karate Family. 🌸
Today we just want to say thank you.
Over the years, one thing has become very clear to me…
Mothers are truly the backbone of our community.
So many of the strongest, most dedicated and most supportive members of our dojo are mums. Not only training hard themselves, but also bringing their children week after week, encouraging them, supporting them, sitting through classes, helping them through challenges, celebrating their victories and quietly holding everything together behind the scenes.
Many of the children growing in confidence, discipline and spirit inside our dojo are only able to do so because of the love, sacrifice and consistency of their mothers.
And honestly… many of our mums are absolute warriors themselves.
Some train after long days of work.
Some train while raising young children.
Some train through stress, exhaustion and difficult seasons of life.
Yet they still show up with heart, courage and determination.
That spirit inspires all of us.
One of the things I love most about TOGKF Yanchep is that it has never felt like “just a martial arts club.”
It feels like a family.
And families are built on care, support, encouragement and belonging.
To every mum in our community:
Thank you for trusting us with your children.
Thank you for helping shape the culture of this dojo.
Thank you for the energy, warmth and strength you bring into our community every single week.
Whether you are a mother training on the floor, cheering from the sidelines, or supporting your family quietly in the background…
This dojo is your home too. ❤️
Happy Mother’s Day from our entire TOGKF Yanchep Family.

Our TOGKF Yanchep family is gearing up for Tokyo 🇯🇵 August 2026
We’re planning to take a strong group of juniors and adults to the first ever Asian Pacific Oceania Gasshuku 2026 — a truly special and historic event for our region.
It’s a real privilege to train under the guidance of our seniors and alongside karateka from across the world, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to represent Australia together.
If you’ve ever wanted to experience international training, connection, and growth — this is your moment.
1st Asian Pacific Oceania Gasshuku to be held in Tokyo Aug 21st - 23rd 2026. Preceded by a 5 day training course under the watchful eye of TOGKF legend Terauchi Kazuo Sensei. Save the dates.

TOGKF Yanchep – A Moment of Gratitude
It is my great honour to share that our dojo has now formally applied and signed our agreement to join the Traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Federation, and from today onward will be known as…
‘TOGKF Yanchep’
This moment didn’t happen overnight.
It is the result of many years of training, mistakes, lessons, humility, persistence, and the steady support of many people along the way.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Sensei Higaonna and the TOGKF leadership, whose guidance and stewardship continue to support not only our dojo, but the ongoing development of Traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do as a unique and living cultural heritage of Okinawa.
I would also like to thank:
• My teachers and seniors, past and present, for their guidance and patience
• The students and families who trusted the dojo through its many stages of growth
• Those who trained beside me when things were uncertain, uncomfortable, or difficult
• And everyone who contributed time, energy, belief, or encouragement along the way
This step is not about status.
It is about responsibility.
Responsibility to the art, to the lineage, and to the people who step onto the mat.
We take on this responsibility with great seriousness, and we will continue to work hard every day to preserve, train, and pass on this art properly.
Never giving up.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring the dojo to this point.
The journey continues.
