Busselton and Dunsborough Libraries recorded an incredible 1.03 million interactions during the 2025/26 financial year, the first time our library services have reached this milestone.

While more than 319,000 physical and digital items were borrowed throughout the year, the numbers only tell part of the story. Every day our libraries bring people together through Storytime sessions, accessing technology, workshops and learning opportunities.

A big thank you to our community and all those who visited, borrowed, clicked and helped us achieve this milestone.

8 new authors, 2 countries, 3 time zones, tech challenges and lots of courage!

One new author was unsure about her story idea and a little nervous about sharing it. So nervous that she told her story as a single sentence, sure that it would be dismissed as not enough.

Instead, she witnessed the other author's faces light up on the screen. She saw the smiles, the nods, and heard the connections.

Hers was a family story โ€” full of unspoken words and Christmas memories โ€” waiting to come to life on paper. It had already touched the hearts of everyone in the room

And so we beginโ€ฆ
