Children often respond to what we notice.
Praising effort, celebrating progress and recognising the things that are going well helps build confidence and makes school something children feel good about.
Often it's the small things that make the biggest difference.

A few weeks ago we encouraged families to talk about attendance and set goals together.
Even if you haven't had that conversation yet, it's never too late. A quick check in over dinner about how school is going and what children are enjoying can help keep those positive routines going.
Often it's the small things that make the biggest difference.

Every child has mornings that take a little more effort than others.
Recognising that effort, whether it's getting organised, overcoming nerves or simply walking through the school gates, helps build confidence and resilience.
Often it's the small things that make the biggest difference.

🎉 Happy Principal Day Mr Rätz! 🎉
We had great fun celebrating Principal Day today! It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise and thank Mr Rätz for his leadership, support and commitment to our students, staff and wider school community.

Sometimes a simple question can tell us a lot.
Asking "What are you looking forward to today?" or "How are you feeling about school?" creates opportunities for children to share what's on their mind before little worries become bigger ones.
Often it's the small things that make the biggest difference.

One good day often leads to another.
Once routines start to return, keeping them going can be easier than starting again. Celebrating each successful morning helps build confidence and makes the next one just that little bit easier.
Often it's the small things that make the biggest difference.

Welcome back to Term 3! After a break, it can take a little time for everyone to find their rhythm again.
The first day back is often the most important. Rather than thinking about the whole term ahead, focus on tomorrow. A good night's sleep, preparing a few things tonight and simply aiming for a calm start to the morning can help children settle back into school routines.
Often it's the small things, and the first steps, that make the biggest difference.
