For Teachers' Appreciation Week, students marked the occasion with thoughtful chalk drawings across the campus, sharing messages of thanks and recognition for the teachers who support, guide and inspire them every day.
A simple but meaningful way to show appreciation and a reminder of the positive impact our teachers have on each student’s journey.
Continuing 140 years of excellence in girls’ education, the School’s teachers are and always have been the powerhouse driving the School forward.

In Senior School, Maya (Year 7) on French Horn delivered an extraordinary performance at the 2026 Solo & Ensemble Competition, securing multiple first‑place results and the prestigious Mollie Neale Memorial Award, recognising her excellence across the competition.
These moments reflect the confidence, commitment and musicianship nurtured at MLC School, where girls dare to be more, and music continues to shine as part of 140 years of excellence in girls’ education.

It was a special morning at Art Space Chatswood, celebrating the creative work of the School’s younger students.
Alina (Year 3) and Peili Doris (Year 4) had their artwork selected for the Operation Art exhibition, a program that shares children’s art with hospitals across NSW and showcases work in local galleries alongside students from other schools.
It was exciting to see their pieces displayed in a professional gallery setting, with opening speeches, live music and a warm welcome for the young artists.
Through initiatives like Operation Art, MLC School’s students are not only developing their creativity but also contributing to the wellbeing of others.
Well done to these students for representing the School so beautifully, and for bringing joy to children and families through their art.

Year 7 embraced every moment of their Adventure Camp in Katoomba, showing enthusiasm, resilience and good humour throughout the week.
Despite strong winds and wet weather shifting the overnight camping indoors, the experience became even more memorable. Rooms filled with tents created a unique camp atmosphere, with plenty of connection across the week through trivia, games, outdoor cooking and shared meals.
The camp was a valuable opportunity for students to challenge themselves, build friendships and step outside their comfort zones, continuing 140 years of excellence in girls’ education through experiences beyond the classroom.
Thank you to all who supported the program and helped make it such a positive and memorable experience for our students.

It’s been a strong season for MLC School debating, with students from Year 6 through to Year 12 achieving outstanding results.
From 16 teams competing across FED and ISDA, 14 progressed to the finals series with four teams reaching the Grand Final stage.
The Year 10 FED team secured their third consecutive championship with a unanimous win, while the Year 11 Senior B team maintained their undefeated record to claim another title.
In ISDA, the Year 6 team impressed in their Grand Final, confidently arguing their case to take out the 2026 division championship. At the senior level, the Year 12 team reached the ISDA Senior A Grand Final for the first time in eight years, finishing as finalists after a closely contested debate.
These achievements reflect the hard work of the School’s debaters across all year groups, as well as the strength of the program from Junior through to Senior years, continuing 140 years of excellence in girls’ education.
Congratulations to all involved and thank you to our families for their ongoing support.

This term, Year 10 students are bringing creativity to life through their Wearable Art unit and experimenting with textiles and fibre techniques while developing confidence and their own unique artistic voice.
Inspired by the human body and sensory experiences, students are exploring how internal and external ideas can be transformed into powerful visual forms. As their concepts grow, they’re thoughtfully connecting ideas, materials and techniques, documenting their journey along the way.
You’ll be able to see their imaginative creations on display at Illuminate next week!

There have been some strong performances in Football across the past week.
Congratulations to Felicity (Year 8), who represented IGSA at the Under 18 CIS Football Championships, finishing as CIS Champions after an outstanding tournament. As the youngest player in the squad, Felicity made a significant contribution throughout the competition and played an important role in the team’s defensive success.
At School level, the MLC School First Football Team delivered a determined performance to progress to the CIS Cup Plate Semi‑Finals. After conceding early, the team worked their way back into the match, showing resilience and composure to regain control and secure the result. It was a true team effort, with contributions across the squad, including a standout performance from Georgie (Year 10), who was named MVP.
Congratulations to all players involved, and best of luck to the team as they head into the semi‑final this week!
