70 years of leadership in one room.

We recently hosted our Past Captains' Lunch, a historic moment bringing together PLC Captains and Vice Captains into one unified group. Under the theme Captains Then. Leaders Always, the room carried a rare depth of experience, with decades of leadership coming together for candid conversations and an immediate, cross-generational bond.

It was incredible to see student leaders spanning over seven decades side by side, from the Class of 1955 through to our current 2026 captains. Over lunch, table discussions centred around one big question: What is the single biggest leadership lesson from your PLC years that you still use today?

We were also privileged to hear from Priscilla Sim (Ruddle 1993), former PLC Captain, Australian Olympic Volleyball Captain and civil engineer, who shared insights from her experience in global cross-cultural leadership.

To everyone who joined us: thank you for shaping our past and inspiring our future.

Acclaimed PLC Old Collegians and authors Anne Buist AO (1975) and Grace Chan (2006) will explore the theme Stories, Identity and the Voices of the Next Generation in a conversation moderated by Kristina Ong (2006).

Hear firsthand about the ideas, experiences and creative processes behind their writing before taking part in an audience Q&A.

Net proceeds from this event will directly benefit the Old Collegians' Association Scholarship Fund.

Last Friday, we welcomed mothers, grandmothers, aunts, daughters and granddaughters to our annual Old Collegians’ Generational Breakfast.

The morning celebrated a very special connection: families who value their own PLC education so deeply that they choose to share it with the next generation. While school may look a little different across the years, the values, friendships and sense of belonging remain.

Each family also had a professional portrait taken together, capturing a special moment in their family’s PLC story to treasure for years to come.

This year, we farewelled some of our Year 12 families and wished them well for the next chapter, while also welcoming four new families who are just beginning their generational journey at PLC.

Thank you to all the families who joined us to celebrate the stories, traditions and connections passed from one generation to the next.

It was fantastic connecting with our Old Collegian network in New South Wales in Sydney last week.

Principal Dr Emma Burgess hosted two wonderful events bringing different generations of PLC women together, including a lively evening of drinks at Establishment Bar, followed by a high tea at The Tea Room the next morning. It was particularly special to have former Principal Elaine Collin join us for the evening gathering, highlighting just how strong and connected the PLC community remains across generations.

Despite spanning multiple decades, everyone instantly reconnected through their shared experiences at the College. Connecting with Dr Burgess gave alumnae the perfect opportunity to share memories of their time at PLC, while gaining key insights into the future direction of the College.

A sincere thank you to everyone from across metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW who joined us. We look forward to continuing to build and strengthen this vibrant professional and social network across the state.

The PLC Junior School community is still buzzing after the annual Winter Concert which was held at the Performing Arts Centre last evening.

The evening showcased the musical talents of all of our Year 3–6 students across ten ensembles. The Junior Concert Band, PLC Strings, Stringers, Year 3/4 Choir, Harmony Choir, Junior Clarinet Ensemble, Year 5 Choir, Year 6 Quartet, Year 6 Choir and the Combined Year 5/6 Choir.

Our Junior School students performed with focus, enthusiasm and confidence, bringing energy and character to every performance.

Congratulations to our dedicated Music Staff as well as our talented students, including the two Junior Music Captains - Jacqueline and Emma, who hosted the evening with precision and finesse. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a wonderful success.

On a beautiful sunny day, our Year 4–6 students came together for House Sports Day!

With basketball, soccer and netball on the program, students brought plenty of enthusiasm, energy and sportsmanship to the day, competing for their Houses and cheering each other on.

Congratulations to Wyselaskie House on taking first place with 380 points, narrowly ahead of Hethersett on 370. Woollahra finished third with 290 points, followed by Koorinya with 240.

Well done to all our students for embracing the spirit of House Sport and making it such a fun and memorable day!

Our Senior Biology students recently visited the University of Melbourne for a hands-on workshop at the School of Biosciences, where they brought their classroom learning to life through practical investigations in a university laboratory.

Working with advanced laboratory equipment, students explored topics including evolution, genetics and the immune system while gaining valuable insight into scientific research.

"The workshop was a memorable experience and a valuable complement to the theory we learnt in class. The practical activities helped us apply our understanding of Biology in a real-world setting." – Thinuli
