Clasax is proud to help support an exciting new initiative to preserve Australia's historical clarinets in a new nationally accessible collection.
Led by Perth clarinettist and recent UWA Conservatorium graduate Ted Godderidge, the project aims to establish Australia's leading collection of historical clarinets, spanning more than 200 years of musical and technological development. Unlike most historical instrument collections, which remain in private ownership and are rarely accessible, this collection is being developed as a public educational resource.
The project is now seeking support from the wider community.
If you own an unwanted vintage, antique or historical clarinet, please consider donating it to the collection. Instruments of all ages, makers and systems may be of historical interest, and every donation has the potential to contribute to preserving Australia's musical heritage for future generations.
Financial donations are also being sought to assist with the acquisition, restoration and conservation of historically significant instruments. All donations of $2 or more through the Australian Cultural Fund are tax deductible, and every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference.
Ted is also seeking long-term partners and sponsors who share a passion for preserving Australia's musical heritage and expanding educational opportunities for future generations.
