🌟 Building PAX at Burrumbuttock School: A Term of Peace, Productivity, Health & Happiness 🌟

Term 3 has kicked off with energy and enthusiasm at Burrumbuttock School! Our focus remains on fostering PAX—Peace, Productivity, Health, and Happiness—through engaging lessons and strong community spirit.

Recently, Mrs Rachinger led an inspiring PAX lesson where students embraced leadership, teamwork, and cooperation—forming shapes with coloured bands and showing zero “spleems” (negative behaviours)! 👏

Our Chaplaincy continues to play a vital role, supporting students and staff through initiatives like the Breakfast Club, Mini Commonwealth Games, and the PAX Good Behaviour Game, helping build resilience and pro-social skills in our young learners.

This term, we’re thrilled to launch PAX Heroes—celebrating students who demonstrate outstanding behaviour and teamwork. Together, we are creating a positive and joyful community.

📚 Book Week Parade – Tuesday 1st September at 9:30am! 📚

This year’s Book Week theme is "A Symphony of Stories"! Join us as we celebrate the wonderful music of reading, where every book, character and imagination adds to our grand story symphony.

Let’s fill the school with the sounds and colours of our favourite stories! We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative interpretations as we come together to celebrate "A Symphony of Stories".

🥚 Cooking with Banksia: Mini Quiches in Week 4! 🥧

Banksia students had another fantastic cooking experience in Week 4, this time creating delicious mini quiches! Using fresh ingredients and with support from our wonderful kitchen helpers, students learned valuable cooking skills and enjoyed tasting their yummy creations.

It was a fun, hands-on activity that encouraged teamwork and healthy eating. Want to make these at home? Here’s our simple recipe:

Mini Quiche Recipe
Ingredients:
• 5 large free range eggs
• 130 ml cream
• 1 tablespoon grated onion
• 2.6 sheets puff pastry
• 1 cup grated cheese
• ½ cup chopped deli ham

Method:
*Preheat oven to 210°C.
*Grease a muffin pan.
*Beat eggs, cream, onion, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well combined.
*Cut and line each muffin hole with pastry.
*Divide ham and cheese into muffin holes, and spoon in the egg mixture.
*Bake for 20–22 minutes or until golden and set.

🏅 Southern Riverina Athletics Carnival🏅

Recently, students Lucy B, Lucy F, Kruze, Cooper, Brylee, Tierre, Archie, Harriet, Weston, Emma, and Reilly proudly represented Burrumbuttock Public School at the Southern Riverina Athletics Carnival. A big thank you to Mrs Schulz for attending on behalf of the Walbundrie Small Schools, supporting and encouraging our talented athletes throughout the day.

Congratulations to Lucy, Cooper, Kruze, Archie, and Tierre who have earned the opportunity to compete at the upcoming Riverina Athletics Carnival next Friday! Archie and Kruze will be competing in individual events, while Tierre, Lucy, Archie, and Cooper will join forces in the relay team.

We’re so proud of all our athletes and wish them the best of luck as they continue their sporting journey!

🏉 Congratulations to Lucy, Georgia, and Tierre at the Paul Kelly Football Carnival! 🏉

We are incredibly proud of Lucy, Georgia, and Tierre for representing the Henty Public School team at the Paul Kelly Football Carnival in Griffith last Wednesday. The girls had a fantastic day showcasing their skills, sportsmanship, and team spirit. Well done on making us all proud!
