After rejecting the Taj Mahal Lyson nuc twice, I let the BEES hang through two days of rain. And now they have been placed in a top bar nuc, hopefully they like that. I’m guessing they’re unlikely to leave any time soon. Yes we do make top bar nucs to order. Pics are of the same recalcitrant swarm!

Overwintered 4F nuc today. Caucasian Feb 26 F1 queen hitting her straps. Into a 6 framer she goes for a couple of weeks. Will be a 3 decker by December in someone’s hive. No mites so far in this apiary.

I will have quality nucs available by the end of October. Queens will be mated early October. $260 for 5F plus. Up to 8F. Extra $10 per frame of bees.

What happens after a few years when you have gear that hasn’t been wax dipped?

The front door opens wide!
Plus dry rot. So changed two of those gifts today.

So you either build it from scratch and wax dip it or buy wax dipped gear. It will last you decades.
