TAKING SHAPE //A wonderful achievement for Ben and Fergus, whose Industrial Technology Timber Major Works have been nominated for SHAPE, a showcase of outstanding HSC projects from across NSW.
It’s especially exciting to see this recognition in the inaugural Year Group to complete the Industrial Technology Timber course. We’re so proud to see their skill, creativity and craftsmanship recognised at this level.

WORKS OF ART// Last night, we celebrated the HSC and Year 11 Visual Arts students and the work they have developed throughout the year.

The exhibition reflected the breadth of learning in the Visual Arts, with students exploring different styles, techniques, ideas and subject matter to develop their own artistic practice. It was wonderful to see the thinking and learning behind the finished works and the individual direction each student has taken with their art.

It was also a real highlight to hold the exhibition at our new neighbours, Burradoo Park Farm. We’re grateful to the team for welcoming our students and giving them such a wonderful space to share their work with families, friends and the wider Oxley community.

Congratulations to our HSC and Year 11 artists on a wonderful exhibition.

ENCORE NOMINATION // Congratulations to Liam H, who has been nominated for ENCORE, the HSC showcase celebrating outstanding Music performances and works from across NSW.

We were lucky enough to hear Liam perform one of the pieces that helped secure his nomination, No One Will Bruise, at the Class of 2026 Year 12 Graduation last week. It was a stellar performance and a wonderful moment to celebrate Liam’s talent.

This is Liam’s third HSC Showcase nomination, following his previous nominations for OnSTAGE for both his Drama Group Performance and Individual Performance.

Congratulations, Liam, on this wonderful recognition across both Music and Drama!

HELPING HANDS//Our Year 6 students recently participated in our inaugural Day of Service at Guula Ngurra National Park, where they made a meaningful contribution to the local environment while learning about the importance of caring for Country. Supported by National Parks volunteers, students planted more than 150 native saplings, removed invasive fire w**d, and explored the park on a guided bushwalk, gaining valuable insights into the area's unique ecosystem and cultural significance. The experience strengthened our partnership with National Parks and the Gundungurra Traditional Owners, while providing students with an authentic opportunity to serve their community, develop environmental stewardship, and see how small actions can make a lasting difference. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and look forward to returning in the future to see the trees they planted flourish.

ORIENTEERING OVERSEAS//A huge congratulations to brothers Euan S (Year 8) and Rory S (Year 10), who recently represented Australia as part of a four-person U16 squad at the European Youth Orienteering Championships in Slovenia.

The boys put themselves to the test against some of Europe’s best young orienteers, with their relay team finishing 19th, while Euan placed 43rd and Rory 53rd in the individual sprint.

More than the results, the experience gave both boys valuable lessons in competing at this level and plenty to build on as they continue to set big goals in orienteering.

Well done and what an experience!
