SHOW TEAM SUCCESS IN DUBBO //

Our 10 Junior Show Team members travelled to Dubbo with six Merino wethers (sheep) to compete in the 2026 NSW School Merino Wether Challenge, held as part of the prestigious Rabobank National Merino Sheep Show.

Competing against 16 other schools in Zone 1, our students achieved outstanding results:

🥇 1st Place Overall – Chevalier College A
🥉 3rd Place Overall – Chevalier College B
🏆 1st Place – Zone 1 Wool Value
🏆 1st Place – Best Presented Group (Out of Wool)

A fantastic achievement that reflects the dedication, skill and teamwork of our Agriculture students and staff. Congratulations to everyone involved for representing Chevalier College so well.

EXPLORING JUSTICE WITH ACRATH //

We were privileged to welcome Sr Genny Ryan last week to speak with our Year 10 and 11 students about the vital work of ACRATH (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans).

Sr Genny highlighted the realities of modern slavery and human trafficking across industries including chocolate, technology, food, and fashion, while also shedding light on exploitation occurring here in Australia.

Students were encouraged to reflect on the impact of their everyday choices and consider how they can contribute to creating a more just and compassionate world through advocacy, awareness, and action.

LEARNING JAPANESE THROUGH EXPERIENCE //

Last week, our Years 9 and 10 Japanese students participated in an immersive language and cultural program at the Nihongo Tanken Centre in Sydney.

Through speaking activities and interactive tasks, students built confidence using Japanese in a more authentic contexts.

Thank you to the Tanken Centre team for providing such an enriching and memorable experience.

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL //

On Friday we spent a wonderful day together on the Avenue for our Athletics Carnival.

There was so much talent on the track and field, plenty of laughs in the novelty games, so much house spirit and some seriously good house-colour costumes. 💜🧡💙💛💚❤️

And we were lucky enough to get sunshine and blue skies! 🌤️

WINTER SPORTSFEST //

On Saturday, we gathered as a community to support our winter sports teams, enjoy some good food and sweet treats, and spend time together embracing the winter season.

It was a lovely opportunity to show our Chev spirit, catch up with friends and families, and enjoy a great day of sport and fun.
