🧺🌾 Year 7 Mini Picnic Hamper Challenge! 🍋🥐

Our Year 7 students have been putting their skills to the test with their Mini Picnic Hamper Challenge, as part of their “Build a Farm” unit!

Throughout the unit, students learnt about where our food comes from while developing some fantastic practical skills. They made their own butter from cream, baked delicious lemonade scones, and put their creativity and presentation skills to work decorating and presenting their finished picnic hampers. 👏

It was fantastic to see their learning come together in such a fun and hands-on challenge. Well done, Year 7! 💜💙🧡💛

🎉 Celebrating Student Voice at BSSC! 🎉

A huge congratulations to our Student Leadership Team and Home Group Representatives who took part in the Student Voice meeting with Mr Kiss, Ms Fong and Ms BradfordI! 💙

Our students shared their ideas and brainstormed ways to support student attendance, improve student behaviour and strengthen student belonging across BSSC.

It was fantastic to see our students having a voice in shaping the future of our school, and we can’t wait to see some of their ideas come to life in 2027! 🌟

✈️ 234 SQUADRON AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE CADETS – 2027 RECRUITMENT ✈️

Is your young person looking for a new challenge, a chance to build confidence, make new friends and develop valuable life skills?

234 Squadron Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC) will open recruitment for its 2027 intake on 1 October 2026.

Open to young people aged 13–16 years, the AAFC provides a safe and supportive environment where cadets can develop confidence, leadership, teamwork, self-discipline and resilience while enjoying experiences they may not get anywhere else.

Cadets have opportunities to participate in:
✈️ Aviation experiences
🥾 Adventure training
🧭 Fieldcraft
🎖️ Ceremonial activities
🤝 Leadership and teamwork development
🌟 Community engagement and personal development

For parents, carers and young people who would like to find out more, 234 Squadron is hosting an Information Session:

Come along and learn more about what being an Air Force Cadet involves, the opportunities available, and how your young person can become part of the 234 Squadron community.

🌏 Catching Up with Our Past BSSC International Students! 💜💙

One of the most rewarding parts of our International Department is staying connected with our students long after they have completed their studies at BSSC.

Recently, we were delighted to catch up with Nonoka from Japan, who studied with us in Term 1, 2024, and Erka from Mongolia, who graduated in 2025.

It was wonderful to see them again, hear about what they have been up to and reminisce about their time as part of the BSSC community. ✨

While our international students may finish their studies and move on to their next adventure, they will always remain a valued part of our BSSC International community. 💜
