From junior years students are guided to be critical thinkers and develop lifelong learning skills, which assists them in senior years to follow their chosen path. St Eugene College is a Prep - 12 College where students Enter to Learn, Dare to Grow, and Leave to Serve. Each student is welcomed into our college as they engage in deep learning and authentic continuity of curriculum from early childh

ood to young adulthood. Students learn to be independent learners within a flexible learning classroom environment. Our students work closely with St Vincent de Paul Society and Rosies Friends on the Street where they thrive in outreaching to our community. Students at St Eugene College will be assisted and encouraged to work toward either University or Vocational Education Pathway. 📚✨ Book Week 2026: Symphony of Stories ✨🎶

We are gearing up for our much-loved annual Book Week Parade this Wednesday, and what a wonderful week it has already been in our beautifully decorated Library! 🌟📖

This year’s theme, “Symphony of Stories,” reminds us that every book has its own rhythm, voice and melody — and when we read together, those stories become a beautiful symphony of imagination, creativity and learning. 🎼📚

Just like music, stories can inspire us, move us, make us laugh, take us on adventures and connect us with people, places and ideas from all around the world. 🌏✨

Throughout the week, our students have been enjoying a variety of exciting Book Week activities in the Library. Our Senior Students have generously spent their lunch breaks reading to younger children, creating special moments of connection and shared storytelling. 💛📘

Book Week Bingo has been an absolute hoot and a big hit with the students! 🦉🎉 We have also loved seeing staff take time out of their busy days to read to children, helping to nurture that wonderful love of books across our College community. 👏📚

It is always so lovely to see the Library decorated so beautifully for Book Week each year, and even more special to see our students engaging so enthusiastically in all the activities. These experiences help spark imagination, build confidence and encourage a lifelong love of reading. 🌈📖

✨ Religious Education in Action ✨

Creativity, collaboration and faith-filled learning were on display in Year 3 during Term 2! 🙏⛪

As part of their Religious Education unit, students designed their own parish churches before taking part in a gallery walk, where they proudly shared their learning and offered thoughtful, constructive feedback to their classmates. 👏💬

Throughout the unit, students explored the history and significance of our local parish and diocese, discovering how faith communities have grown over time and continue to play an important role in people’s lives today. 🌿🕊️

We are so proud of the meaningful connections our Year 3 students are making between faith, community and belonging. 💙✨

🏏✨ Cricket Gala Sports Day – Celebrating Our Year 5s and High School Leaders! ✨🏏
What a fantastic day of cricket, teamwork and school spirit at our recent Cricket Gala Sports Day! 🌟

This time, we shine a special spotlight on our wonderful Year 5 students and the incredible support of our high school leaders, who helped guide, coach and encourage our junior teams throughout the day. 👏💙

Across the event, there were 6 junior fields and 10 senior fields in action, with over 40 games of cricket played and seven schools participating — an amazing celebration of sport, skill and community! 🏏🙌

A special mention to our Year 5 Girls Cricket Team, managed by Gurlyn from Year 8. Congratulations to team members Charlotte, Aariya, Daphne, Olivia, Aubrey, Sofia, Parinoor and Daksha for representing our College with enthusiasm and great teamwork. 💪🌟

Another highlight of the day was Hudson, a junior team member, raising the bat after scoring his maiden century! 🏏👏 Hudson scored an incredible 111 runs in a game led by his coach, Will from Year 7.

What a memorable achievement! 🎉Well done to all students, coaches, leaders and staff involved in making the day such a success. It was wonderful to see our younger students learning from our high school leaders and enjoying a great day of cricket together. 💙🏏✨

🥎🌟 What an incredible week for Matthew! 🌟🥎

Recently Matthew competed well in a tournament representing the Sunshine Coast Region in 10–12 Years Softball from Wednesday through Saturday! 💙🥎

The team finished an impressive 4th place, with their losses being incredibly close and marginal. The boys built
strong friendships, supporting one another and creating a fantastic team bond. 🤝🔥

🏅 But there was even more to celebrate!

At the end of the tournament, Matthew was incredibly proud to be awarded the Coaches Award! 🏆👏

This special medal recognised not only his efforts on the field, but the way he supported his teammates and coaches throughout the entire tournament.

🇦🇺🥎 And then came some HUGE news…

Matthew has been selected to represent Queensland at the upcoming Australian School Sports Championship in Newcastle this October! 🎉🎉

Congratulations to our outstanding Year 12 students who have achieved the remarkable feat of earning a perfect score on their IA2 assessment pieces. Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence have been rewarded with an exceptional result that reflects both hard work and a passion for learning.

🎤✨ Slam Poetry – English ✨🎤

On Wednesday, our talented English students took to the stage to present their powerful slam poems to a large and captivated audience, including our special guest judges — Mr. Fritz, Mrs. Freeth, Mr. Byrne and Mrs. Gilday. 👏

This wonderful event marked the conclusion of our Slam Poetry unit, where students created, developed and performed their very own slam poetry masterpieces. From environmentalism, friendship and war, to community, kindness and sport, students chose topics they were passionate about and brought them to life through voice, expression and figurative language. 🌏🤝🕊️💬

There were tears and cheers from the judges as students moved the audience with their heartfelt messages, creativity and confidence. 💛

Students were self-nominated and then selected from their classes as the best overall performers. With more than 50 nominations, only 15 students were chosen to present — an incredible achievement! 🌟

🌟 Year 1 is 120 Days Brighter! 🌟

1 Navy recently made fairy bread as part of their Year 1 Procedures unit, and what a wonderfully sweet way to bring learning to life! 🍞🧈🌈

Students were highly engaged as they carefully followed each step of the procedure — from spreading the butter to sprinkling on the hundreds and thousands. It was lovely to see their excitement and pride as they created their fairy bread, while making meaningful connections between classroom learning and real-life experiences. ✨👏

Tomorrow, our Year 1 students and teachers will celebrate being 120 Days Brighter! Students will dress in bright colours and rotate through a range of fun, hands-on activities to mark this special milestone. 💛💚💙❤️
