Book Week @ Meadows this year was EPIC!!! So many incredibly crafted character costumes and definitely our biggest and best Book Week Parade yet!!! A huge thank you to our community for all of your hard work and effort (no doubt a few hot glue gun burns out there!). A massive thank you to one of our special guest judges Mark Ryan MP who donated the book “You are not a pup!” by children’s author Annaleise Byrd (also a special guest judge) to every single Prep student!!! The best students + The best staff + The best community = The best school. 💪

📚🎶 HAPPY BOOK WEEK 🎶📚

We’ve made it to the final day of celebrating Book Week, and what better way to finish the week than with one of our Meadows favourites!

Today, Mr Hovey, our School Principal, will be reading Derek - a book that was very popular with our Meadows voters!

Although Derek didn’t take home the CBCA Book of the Year award, it was named an Honour Book!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Book Week so much fun! From our book sharers to our readers, dress-up superstars and families - we hope you’ve had as much fun as we have!

We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Just ONE MORE SLEEP until our Book Week Character Parade! We can’t wait to see everyone bring their favourite book characters to life!

Today, Ms Shirley, our Business Manager, is sharing Save the Gum Trees, Bees and the Big Blue Seas - a wonderful, shortlisted book from the New Illustrator category!

With a beautiful message about caring for our environment, this story reminds us how important it is to protect the amazing world around us.

Did you know that every year, Book Week has a different theme to inspire children to celebrate books, reading and storytelling?

This year’s theme, “Symphony of Stories,” invites us to celebrate the wonderful harmony of books, characters, authors and illustrators that bring our imaginations to life!

Well that one is easy - that’s cause it’s Book Week!!!

Mrs Ball loves Book Week so much, each and every day she is dressing as her favourite book character… only problem is - she has so many!!! We are blessed to have a Library Bee like Mrs Ball. She makes our library such a magical place.
