Our students are so lucky to be supported by such a caring, dedicated, and hardworking team of Teacher Assistants. They make a difference each and every day through their kindness, patience, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to helping every child learn, grow, and thrive.

Whether they are supporting students in the classroom, building confidence, helping students navigate challenges, providing encouragement, or stepping in wherever they are needed, our Teacher Assistants consistently go above and beyond. Their impact reaches far beyond academics, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all students can succeed.
They are often the friendly face, the listening ear, the calm support during difficult moments, and the quiet champions celebrating every success along the way. Their genuine care for our students and willingness to support both staff and families make them an invaluable part of our school community.

We are truly grateful for the amazing Teacher Assistants we have at Montello Primary School. Thank you for the difference you make every single day. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment do not go unnoticed, and our school is a better place because of you.
Thank you for everything you do. We appreciate you and celebrate you today and every day!

Last week we celebrated Speech Pathology Week and the wonderful contribution our speech pathologist, Chane, makes to our school community.

Chane works tirelessly alongside our students, staff and families to support communication, language, learning and participation. Her work helps students find their voice, express their ideas, build relationships, access their learning and feel confident to participate in school life.

This year’s theme, Communication creates possibility, perfectly captures what Chane does every day. By supporting students to communicate and be understood, she opens up possibilities for connection, learning, choice, participation and success.

We are incredibly grateful for the knowledge, care and expertise Chane brings to Montello and for the difference she makes for so many of our students.

Thank you Chane for helping to create possibility every day.

Student Wellbeing and Engagment Surveys will be happening soon. Please click the link shared below for further information

💬 Students across Tasmania will soon take part in the Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey (SWES).

SWES gives students the chance to share their experiences of wellbeing, engagement and learning at school.

The survey is confidential, and student feedback helps schools understand what's working well and where improvements may be needed.

🌟Have a chat to your child about why their voice matters.🌟

More information is available on the DECYP Website 👉 https://www.decyp.tas.gov.au/wellbeing/student-wellbeing-and-engagement-survey/

Thank you to all our students, families and staff for your wonderful efforts in making the Montello Book Week Parade such a memorable celebration.

We were delighted to see so many creative costumes and the time, care and imagination that went into bringing our Symphony of Stories theme to life. It was fantastic to see our school community come together to celebrate books, storytelling and the joy of learning.

Most importantly, the parade was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our students’ love of learning and their enthusiasm for discovering new stories and ideas.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special.
Thanks to Burnie Mayor, Teeny Brumby, for helping us to celebrate.

We hope you enjoy this collection of photos from the parade. A big thanks to Bethany for capturing these moments.

Dont forget tomorrow is our Book Week Dress Up Parade.
You don't need to spend lots of money on a costume.
Some ideas using things you may have at home include-

Pippi Longstocking – Mismatched socks, overalls, freckles, and wire in braids to make them stick out.

The Day the Crayons Quit – Dress in one solid color, add a matching paper cone hat, and carry a hand made crayon label.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid – White T-shirt with Greg’s face drawn on, black shorts, and a cartoon-style speech bubble.

The Babysitters club - Casual clothes

Minions - Yellow tshirt and blue denim overalls or pinafore
