🐴 So… our Manager Jo disappeared for a few days recently and now we know where she went! ❤️

How special to see Remount featured on ABC Landline.

Remount brings veterans and first responders together through horses, connection, time on the land and the simple opportunity to slow down and reset.

Jo was fortunate enough to experience Remount firsthand, and seeing the program and the wonderful people behind it shared with Australia today made it even more meaningful.

Sometimes support doesn’t happen in an office or around a table. Sometimes it happens beside a horse, around a fire, out in the paddock, and in conversations with people who simply understand.

What Remount provides is very special.

Congratulations to the entire Remount team on a beautiful Landline story and thank you for the work you do supporting our veteran and first responder community, beautiful act of service. 🐴❤️

Now, Jo… we understand why you didn’t want to come home!

💙 To all our dads this Father’s Day…

To the dads, grandads, stepdads, adoptive dads, foster dads, dads-to-be, puppy dads, and the special people who may not have the title but have always been there like a dad and our deployed dads today we celebrate you.

We also know today can bring a mix of emotions.

Some will spend the day surrounded by family, laughing and making memories. Others will be remembering a dad they would give anything to have one more conversation with, missing a child who once called them Dad, or quietly thinking about what might have been.

We hope you find a little time to remember the good stuff the laughs, the stories, the terrible dad jokes, the adventures and those little moments that somehow become the ones we treasure most.

Look after yourselves and each other.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at the Veterans’ & Families’ Centre. 💙

Aussie Hero Quilts (and Laundry Bags) brings together volunteers from across Australia to create handmade quilts and laundry bags for Australian Defence Force personnel.

Each piece is made with care and sent as a personal reminder that the service and sacrifice of our Defence community is seen, valued and appreciated. It’s a simple idea, but one that carries a lot of meaning for the person receiving it.

If you have sewing or quilting skills and would like to put them towards something special, Aussie Hero Quilts has a number of ways you can get involved.

Legacy Week is here!
Honouring the Promise is what our incredible friends at Legacy Launceston do best.
Help keep the Promise alive by purchasing a Legacy Bear or Legacy Pin this week. Take a moment to reflect on where the Promise began and why it still matters so much today.
We're stocked, ready, and proud to support Legacy Week. 🧸

💙 Thank you, Tasmanian Government

We are incredibly grateful to the Tasmanian Government for supporting The Veterans’ & Families’ Centre through the Teddy Sheean VC Memorial Grants Program.

This funding has allowed us to purchase some fantastic new equipment and resources for our Centre, including:
🧵 Sewing machine – ready to go
🚲 Bike car rack – installed and ready to use
✂️ Cricut machine – ready for our creative programs
🖨️ 3D printer – coming soon
📁 Paper, folders and essential resources – coming soon

All locally purchased.

These might seem like simple pieces of equipment, but for our Centre they mean new opportunities for connection, creativity, learning, practical activities and wellbeing for veterans and their families.

The Teddy Sheean VC Memorial Grants Program honours the extraordinary sacrifice of Tasmanian sailor Edward ‘Teddy’ Sheean VC, while continuing to make a very real difference to Tasmania’s veteran community today.

A sincere thank you to the Tasmanian Government for investing in our veteran and family community and helping us continue to build a welcoming, practical and connected Centre.

We can’t wait to put everything to good use! 💙

Stronger resources. Greater impact. Stronger veteran families.
