Adventure X for 12-18yos is on in 2023, Thursday every week beginning January 5.

If you want to connect with a like-hearted, nature-loving, adventurous (teenagers play) social group come try us!

You’ll be with young people who enjoy making up challenges in different natural locations around the southern GC. Sometimes we bring in bush crafts, expeditions, camps...and most times what the adventurers want is a place to belong, hold their own culture, chill out and talk, be fully themselves, explore personal edges with dignity and sovereignty, navigate and participate in a caring group dynamic, and more.

I ensure this is a space specifically for older homeschoolers, and some wonderful GC groups can offer bush school experiences for younger ones/siblings. Parents please dm if you’d like a chat about our intake process which includes a phone chat with me, Sara.

The day is a drop-off parent free zone and runs 930-2pm at various locations. Also plan for termly/bi-annual camps and monthly expeditions to our local hinterland with carpooling or transport necessary.

Adventure is calling!

A new Adventure X program begins on January 28, Fridays 9am - 2pm.

This is a day for wildness, co-designed adventures, fun and friendship, all in magnificent natural locations around the mid-south Gold Coast. You will be accompanied by mentors in rewilding and regenerative environmental education. On Fridays, Youth mentor Asher (14) will be joining the team!

So that we can support true adventures for youth, this day is ideal for pre-teen and teens. (Our current Adventure X program running on Thursday is full with an age range of 10-17yrs). I'll be onboarding with the aim of meeting needs for friendship as well as a dynamic group :)

We also try to keep costs affordable for homeschooling families! I began this 4 years ago as a service to this awesome community. We LOVE facilitating meaningful and fun experiences with our youth, so we've kept going!

When: Term dates Fridays, 9am-2pm (parent drop off)
Where: Various locations mid-south GC
Who: Pre-teens and teens (10+)

What's a day like? It is different each and every week, depending on place (a co-creator with us!), weather, season, how we show up, and so much more. We will flow through some more challenging adventures, to introducing and honing some bush skills, to swims and chill games in the heat, to more intense games and social play to meet these young adventurers where they're at. We create a culture of belonging, friendship and having great experiences in nature.

Adventure X !

A bush school with a difference, Adventure X is a day for young people to immerse in nature, choose their own adventures, and co-create a culture of care for themselves, each other and the awesome places we live in.

We get together every Thursday in various locations between Tallebudgeera, Burleigh and Currumbin and sometimes a bit further afield for bushwalks and camps. We mix lots of cooperative games and fun with exploring our places, practicing traditional living skills and ways of being.

Sara mentors, along with other experienced Adventure Xers. Our group is currently 10-16yrs. Please Pm me to chat about whether this is a fit for your family.
