20yrs ago this week, Head Coach Paul fought for the WBC Championship Belt in Chicago. He battled it out with Polish Tomasz Adamek. The fight was televised on HBO to 250 million people. His promoter was Don King and he was cornered by Johnny Lewis.

After a 12 year winning streak, Paul endured his first loss - missing out on the belt by one point. Later he rematched Adamek - again losing by one point. You can watch both bloody battles on YouTube. In 2009 Ring Magazine ranked them 9th and 10th Best Light-Heavyweight Title Fights of all time.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Throughout his career leading up to these battles Paul declined offers to fight for any other belt- he only ever had eyes on the prestigious WBC Belt. In fact - from childhood when he would gaze at it on a Ring Magazine poster pinned to his bedroom wall.
