AN OPEN LETTER TO EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS

Today is Early Educators Day and its just one day of acknowledgement for the hundreds of days a year you dedicate to raising the next generation.

As a mother, as an employer, and as a friend I want you all to know that I see you.

I see the importance of the work you do. I see the moments where you have to hold your breath when you change a nappy, and when you have to follow a multi-step process to wipe a nose. I just wish society saw more than this.

I see the moments you have to share your lap with three children at the same time and meet all of their different needs at the same time. I see you juggle the expectations of parents, your team and of your boss whilst trying to remind yourself why you do this work day in day out.

I see the little eyes who look at you for comfort when they are sad, and who hold you tighter when they are scared or when you are reassuring them that their loved ones will be back to get them.

I see how you make them laugh and how they make you smile. How you show them everything you know and create opportunities for them to discover life's secrets and then when they run to you to teach you what you already know - you pretend its the first time you've ever heard it!

I see the struggle you have to make sure you have enough energy and love to go home to your own family and children. And I see the days where you realise you are living your purpose - you are doing what you are meant to and you love every moment.

Keep doing what you are doing. Keep changing the world - one day at a time. One family at a time. One moment at a time.

One day soon the whole of society will realise - you can change the world with how you change a nappy.

Thank you for the impact you have on humanity. Thank you for what you do.

What we are building at Liam’s school is epic. The Connection Corridor is a project that brings the community together, helps support the natural habitats and spaces for animals AND opens up the depth of education for children around nature in all its possibilities.

Education is more than just the four walls of a classroom. Help us bring that to life.

On tomorrow night in Camp Hill.

My first solo art exhibition.

Will be epic - 6pm to 9, Live Music, drinks and food… art, interiors and so much more! The street is coming alive spontaneously beyond the gallery walls!!! Soo excited!

Come experience it all, immerse yourself, learn new stuff and the direction behind the emotional intelligence and I AM Global Citizen Curriculum, meet random people and make connections you never thought possible.

This is next level stuff and it’s right here in Brisbane!

There is a childrens exhibition opening on Saturday 8th October 4pm to 6pm at the same location 🙂 will have art experiences and food and drinks for the children.

Today we tested digital art creation with the children to explore technology and creativity combined.

The children all worked on a collaborative piece and were fascinated with ProCreate.

An amazing experience and beautiful conversations around the whole thing.

This isn’t permanently in our classrooms and it’s just another way to explore creativity and art!
