It’s not craft, it’s art.
It’s not quick, it’s the process.
It’s not duplicated, it’s an identity.
It’s not just anyone, it’s me.
It’s me, me, me. 💙

The use of permanent black pens and water colours re-creates the kinship observed in nature. Not only through the lens of the child did they notice the fine details, but they connect with the colours that make a particular flower unique.

This proposal was showcased at the local library for citizens young and old to view and question the effect of discarded plastic in nature.
Each child took inspiration from images of animals who had encountered plastic in their natural habitat and suffered because we made their place unsafe.
What resonated with the children through open discussion was human disrespect, neglect and selflessness towards other living things. Each child showing an emerging voice for the present, not the future, as active citizens.
Using household plastic and revisiting the original images, each child used clay as the preferred medium which produced an extraordinary 3D effect.
