This week, the cubs have been learning colours; Focusing on identifying and searching items of this same colour.

They showed enthusiasm in play based learning, and I will be implementing more learning through play and expanding their knowledge on colours.

Learning outcome 4.1: Children develop a growth mindset and learning dispositions such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity.

In the garden, our cubs have recently observed an increase in butterflies.

We explained how butterflies feed on flower nectar and use their feet to taste. After sparking their interest, we showed them a video about the life cycle of butterflies, from caterpillar to winged adult.

To attract more butterflies and bees, we've planted wildflowers and plan to make butterfly feeders this week! 🦋 🦋 🦋

Our second week of school holiday programming continued the underwater theme.

Young cubs engaged in turtle painting and an educational soap bubble bath with sea creatures. The cubs also participated in a BINGO game and sea creature matching exercise, sparking conversations about marine life diversity.

These school holidays, the cubs are learning about life Under the Sea!

We watched a documentary on the life of an octopus and read a book about a little girl who didn't catch any fish but spotted whales. The cubs had a great time crafting jellyfish to hang in our space, and we're up to our elbows in sensory play this week.

Short week, big fun! (Last week)
Our cubs rocked some song and dance. Who knew everyone was a sleeping bunnies expert, with a bunny parade jumping through the house, and some 'ring around the rosie' madness outside.

We'll keep the music playing daily and make transitions easier with group time activities. The cubs can't wait to bust a move.

With warmer days ahead, we will provide additional water-based activities and shaded areas to keep the cubs cool.

The children showed keen interest in the new water vessels, using garden greenery to create tea and coffee, which we will continue to support in our efforts to achieve Learning Outcome 3 (Children possess a strong sense of wellbeing) and Learning Outcome 4 (Children are confident and involved learners).

Spring has arrived early at Tiger Tots, where we are taking advantage of the warmer weather to engage in gross motor activities and tend to our new flowers!

We had a delightful week with some new cubs, although the weather was a bit too wet for our liking. However, we made the most of it by engaging in some fun indoor activities, games, and reading books. We also enjoyed singing and dancing along to our favorite Wiggles songs!
