When our educators get involved in children’s play, they’re doing so much more than simply supervising. They’re joining children in their world, creating opportunities for shared enjoyment, meaningful conversations, encouragement and connection. 💛

Today we participated in professional learning with Mr Dean, exploring the importance of bush tucker and First Nations knowledge. As educators, we had the opportunity to taste and experience a variety of native bush foods while learning about their nutritional, cultural and environmental benefits.

This hands-on experience deepened our understanding of how bush tucker connects people to Country, culture and sustainability. It also highlighted the importance of respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our everyday practice, creating meaningful learning opportunities for children and fostering a greater appreciation of Australia’s rich cultural heritage.
