Here's a Jamaica puzzle to ponder: can you make the TARGET value (sum of of black dice = 64) using ALL of the five white dice (6, 3, 3, 5, 4)? You must use the white numbers once and only once, in any order. You can add, subtract, multiply, or divide them.

I have to admit something - I’ve never actually played this game using the full official rules 😅
Not because I don’t love it - it’s one of the funniest games in our house!
But EVERY time we get it out, someone grabs a card before we even start and tries to explain it using “Neanderthal” rules… and it’s so funny that we just keep going… taking turns with the cards - and of course, hitting each other with the “No!” stick 😆
This can easily go on for an hour before we realise we never actually set the game up.
We even took it on holidays recently - sitting outside our caravan wearing glow sticks and glow glasses (because why not?) 🤩
I can only imagine what the people in the nearby caravans thought… us all sitting around in glow gear, speaking like “Neanderthals”, laughing the whole time…
I’m sure it definitely looked like there was wine involved. (No wine required… although I’m sure that would add a whole new level to the game 😆)
If you haven’t played it - the idea is very simple:
You have to describe the word on the card… but you can only use one-syllable words.
Use a big word?
You get hit with the inflatable “NO!” stick 😆
It’s a great game.
We’ll try the official rules one day…
But for now -
“Game is fun. We play now. No need rules.” 😆

We’ve heard it’s going to rain this weekend…
…which means now’s the perfect time to stock up on puzzles and games 😉
And to make the timing even better, we’ve just fully restocked our range of Grandpa Beck’s Games too - which is one of our favourite game ranges here at Brain Spice!
This range of games was started by Brent “Grandpa” Beck and his wife Tauni. They loved playing games with their kids and grandkids so much that they decided to make their own games, inspired by the ones they used to play when they were raising their kids. Grandpa Beck's is still entirely run by Tauni and Brent (with the help of some of their kids) and they only ever produce games developed by members of their own family. What a fun family they must be! 😊
✨ If you’re after some great family games that aren’t overwhelming to learn, this is a great range to stock up on!
Once you start playing these games, you’ll probably find that they feel familiar. This is because they were inspired by classic games that you very likely already know how to play… which makes them really easy to learn.
But also, the beautiful (and sometimes quirky!) twists and themes they’ve added to these games make them completely different to the classic games that inspired them, and… well, the whole combination of familiar yet different just makes them so much fun to play!
For example, we’ve included a simple explanation of The Bears and The Bees in the video. Does it remind you a bit of Dominoes? 😉
(Actually, if you’ve mastered Honeycombs, then The Bears and the Bees is a great next step for your family!)
And if you like UNO, you’ll very likely love Nuts About Mutts 😉

I’ve been waiting for this game to arrive! And finally… it’s here! ✨
It’s got everything… a fun game.. a maze… teaching kids life skills through play… gnomes that move as if by magic…
It’s the most “Brain Spice” thing I’ve ever seen 😆
✨ Gnomes at Night is a cooperative game for kids… and the kids will LOVE it!
To play, you work together to make your way through a maze, trying to reach as many treasures as possible. The more treasures you reach before the timer runs out, the higher your score at the end.
The twist though, is that the board is double-sided, and each player can only see ONE side of the maze.
…and here’s the other thing… the mazes don’t match.
So you’re trying to explain what you can see, while the other player explains what THEY can see, and together you’re trying to work out how to get through the maze to the treasure.
⚡️ Since there’s a timer, you have to communicate and make decisions quickly - although you can always not use the timer for younger kids, or for kids who find the timer too much pressure.
It’s easy to learn, very quick to set up, plays in about 15 minutes… and it has magically moving gnomes 😏
Definitely one I’d recommend for families with kids 💚
