A Symphony of Stories! βœ¨πŸ“š

On Monday, our Primary students brought their favourite books to life as they dressed up as characters from the stories they love!

Our Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories, reminds us that every book has its own voice, its own rhythm and its own story to tell. What a wonderful sight it was to see our students celebrating the joy of reading and stepping into the worlds of their favourite characters. πŸ“–πŸ’™

There were some truly creative costumes, plenty of smiles and lots of wonderful characters wandering around Grace Christian School!

What a fantastic way to celebrate books, imagination and the joy of reading! πŸŽΆπŸ“šβœ¨

SEEDS of SCIENCE: Nurturing knowledge for all

Our final day of National Science Week involved getting our hands dirty! Throughout the week, students investigated the fascinating world of seeds, finishing the week by creating seed paper that will eventually sprout into a beautiful blanket of flowers.

πŸŒ±πŸ”¬ National Science Week – Days 2, 3 & 4!

The science fun continued!
Day 2: Students made their own seed bombs, exploring how seeds can be spread and encouraged to grow.
Day 3: Students got creative decorating frames using a beautiful variety of flowers and seeds.
Day 4: Students made adorable cress heads and investigated how wheat is processed into flour.
What a wonderful few days of hands-on science, creativity and discovery! πŸ’š
We’re loving seeing our students explore the science all around us!

National Science Week – Day 1

What better way to kick off National Science week than by getting hands-on with science?

Yesterday, our students explored the fascinating world of plants through a seed dissection investigation! 🌱 Students carefully examined the different parts of a seed, discovered what each part does, and investigated how something so small contains everything needed to begin the journey of a new plant.

It was wonderful to see students getting curious, asking questions, making observations and discovering science through hands-on learning. πŸŒΏπŸ”

And this is only Day 1! We have lots more exciting science activities planned over the next few days, and we can't wait to see what our budding scientists discover next!

🌎 Science is all around us – we just need to stop, look and wonder!

Our Year 12 ATAR Geography students recently headed to Perth for practical fieldwork, exploring urban challenges including population growth, urban sprawl, transport and liveability.

Travelling by bus, train and ferry, students saw first hand how planning strategies are shaping our growing city.

A highlight was visiting the PTA train driver training facility and experiencing the train driving simulator!

A huge thank you to Daniel, his uncle and the PTA staff for making this such a memorable experience.

Learning Geography beyond the classroom! πŸŒπŸš†

Our Year 1 students and Year 9 Buddies teamed up for a fun and creative art project!

The Year 1 students explored the work of Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky and his famous Concentric Circles. With the help of their Year 9 Buddies, they planned their designs, mixed their colours and got creative!

It was lovely to see our older students encouraging and guiding the younger students as they worked together to create some fantastic artwork. πŸ’™πŸŽ¨

It has been wonderful to watch our Year 7 Dance students grow in confidence throughout last term as they worked towards their performance routine.

Along the way, they embraced new challenges with resilience, enthusiasm and an open mind, developing not only their dance skills but also their confidence to perform in front of others. Their commitment, teamwork and willingness to step outside their comfort zones have been fantastic to see, making the term's performance a wonderful reflection of all their hard work.

Our Year 12 Human Biology students enjoyed an engaging visit to Perth Zoo alongside our friends from Cornerstone Christian College.

Students had the opportunity to observe living primates and apply their classroom learning by comparing their anatomical, behavioural and evolutionary characteristics.

A great day of hands-on learning and seeing Human Biology come to life!
