We celebrated and said goodbye to our principal, Shane Doherty after nearly 20 years as principal of Bunbury PS. Shane spent 49 years in Education.

Let's celebrate and acknowledge our teachers for their skilled work in educating, inspiring and supporting our students. We are celebrating together at our school assembly and a special morning tea.

Slam Dunk! Our Year 5 & 6 boys team WON the Eaton School Slam Series, and our girls team came Third. Well done to both teams! Schools competing were from southwest government and non-government schools. Thank you to Mrs Andrew who helped coach on the day and to Mrs Piavanini for coaching students and coordinating the event. Combining Technologies with English! Here's a great idea for using Unplugged activities to immerse students in literature books. Students were required to make a book character using mini bricks. A great for promoting books!

Happy Father's Day to all our Dads, Grandfathers and carers. The Pre Primary students had a great Father's Day evening and barbecue to celebrate. Year 6 students made surprise cards and there were many other Father's Day activities across the school. Public education in Western Australia

Our school celebrated Australian Teacher Aide (Education Assistant) Appreciation Week, with a special morning tea and individual thank you certificates for all our Education Assistants. We can't thank them enough for the positive impact they have on students learning and wellbeing and supporting teachers and families.

Read, Grow, Inspire! The theme to the 2023 Book Week celebrations.
There were many creative costumes and characters for our school's Book Week parade. It was great to see so many staff supporting the event. Thank you to Mrs Potter and the Library Monitors for coordinating the event and to parents/carers for assisting their children with their costumes. Bunbury Primary School hosted the ySafe Regional and Remote Schools Digital Experts Academy (DX) launch on National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence.
Students from Years 3-6 are completing ySafe's DX online modules which helps them to develop online safety awareness and improve their digital citizenship in a safe environment.
Attending the launch were Nola Marino MP, Don Punch MLA and ySafe representatives Patrick Thomas (ySafe Education and Engagement, National Education Manager) and Tanya Wren (ySafe Education and Wellbeing, Director of Education).

Kaya! The theme for NAIDOC Week this year is ‘For our Elders’. Classrooms across our school celebrated First Nation people’s traditions, history, art, stories and wisdom!
