🥁 Today our students were treated to an unforgettable performance by Rhythm Works!
Through energy, creativity and plenty of audience participation, students discovered how percussion can be used to tell stories and create musical imagery. From African djembes and marimbas to Boomwhackers and wearable instruments, the performance was both educational and entertaining.
Thank you, Rhythm Works, for a fantastic visit and for inspiring our students through the power of music and rhythm! 🎶

An amazing start to Book Week with our Book Character parade.

G1 students went on a music treasure hunt in the wetlands to find items to create a nature soundscape. We collected gumnuts, twigs, pebbles and paperbark, anything that makes an interesting sound. We brought our sound sources back to the classroom to make recordings and then layered the sounds using music production technology to create nature soundscapes.

It’s our Book Character Dress up tomorrow. We can wait to see your imagination come to life.

Next week is Book Week! We will be having our costume parade on Monday.📚📚

💻 Exploring Micro:bits in Digital Technologies! 💡

Our students have been busy exploring the world of coding using Micro:Bits and Microsoft MakeCode!

Students have been developing their coding skills through the Flashing Hearts and Name Tag activities, programming the Micro:Bit’s LED display to create flashing images and scrolling text.

Some students have extended their learning even further by experimenting with the LED display to design their own pixel animations. We also put our coding skills to the test by successfully recreating the classic Paper, Scissors, Rock game on the micro: bits! ✋✌️✊
It has been fantastic to see students problem-solving, experimenting and showing creativity as they discover what their Micro:Bits can do. 🌟

We look forward to continuing our coding journey and exploring even more possibilities with these clever little devices!

F6 have been exploring our theme of Living Things this term by creating dioramas of a platypus’s environment.

Today we had a special visitor in G8A, a puppy called Kora. She spent the day getting lots of cuddles while we continued our ‘Living Things’ theme. There were so many things needed for Kora today, including a safe environment, food, praise and sensitivity which helped cover the characteristics of a living thing.
