Our Year 8, 9 and ATAR English students were recently treated to a poetry play with a visit from Poetry In Action.

Students watched an engaging Rhyme Battle Royale, a live theatrical performance based around poetry.

What a fun lesson in the english language!

๐Ÿ†๐Ÿค– WARP Champions!

As a regional state school, Bunbury Senior High School is incredibly proud of our Robotics Team's outstanding achievement at the WARP (Western Australian Robotics Playoffs) at Curtin Stadium in Perth

After months of designing, building, programming, testing and refining their robot, our students went through the qualifying rounds undefeated, taking home both the WARP Championship and the prestigious Excellence in Engineering Award.

This success reflects the dedication of our students, staff and families, who committed countless hours after school and travelled to Perth each day across the three-day competition. Special thanks to Mr Bourne for his passion and leadership in creating opportunities for students to excel in STEM and engineering.

We are also incredibly grateful to our sponsor, Edith Cowan University (ECU) (School of Engineering), EDF Power Solutions Australia - Bunbury Offshore Wind and Tronox, whose support helps make experiences like this possible for regional students.

Also, a special mention to Hello Duck in Bunbury, for providing our team with daily coffee and muffins to keep them going! Your support is truly appreciated.

This achievement belongs to our whole school community, and we couldn't be prouder. ๐Ÿš€

TRY A TRADE ๐Ÿ›

Last week, a lucky group of students visited GetCareers for a Civil Construction Try a Trade experience.

The students gained valuable hands-on experience in the trade, including the opportunity to operate and learn about construction machinery in a practical setting.

๐Ÿ€ Boys A Basketball: 3rd out of 7 teams
๐Ÿ‰ Touch: 3rd out of 7 teams

Congratulations, Ashton!

Year 8 BEST student, Ashton Gunn, has qualified to represent Western Australia at the 2026 Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships following an outstanding performance at the 2026 WA Cross Country Championships in Wanneroo. The budding authors of Bunbury Senior High School have spent the last two days immersed in murder and mayhem with award-winning young adult cosy crime author Kate Emery.

Students took part in a number of short writing exercises, sharing their prose with the rest of the attendees.

We look forward to reading their future novels dedicated to their beloved high school English teachers!

Buzz Cuts for Rhys!

What an inspiring act of support and friendship. Several Bunbury Senior High School students joined their teammates in shaving their heads for Rhys after his cancer diagnosis. This heartfelt gesture highlights the strength of community, mateship and standing by one another when it matters most. ๐Ÿ’™โšฝ๏ธ
