๐ What a fantastic day at yesterdayโs Year 7/8 Lightning Carnival!
A huge congratulations to all of our students who represented Bunbury Senior High School with pride, determination and great sportsmanship. Special mention to our Girls Soccer team, who brought home the shield, and our Girls AFL team, who remained undefeated all day! ๐
Here is what we know so far:
๐ Boys B Basketball: won 2 out of 3 games in a very competitive Pool B of 7 teams
๐ Boys A Basketball: 3rd out of 7 teams
๐ Touch: 3rd out of 7 teams
๐ Girls Volleyball: 4th place
๐ Boys Volleyball: 5th out of 11 teams
๐ Netball A: 1 win from a tough schedule of 8 games, with the girls showing plenty of grit and determination throughout the day
๐ Hockey: 4th place
A special well done to everyone who had to compete in the rain. Your resilience, teamwork and positive attitude did not go unnoticed. We are still awaiting some final results, but we couldn't be prouder of the way all of our students represented the school. ๐๐ค

Congratulations, Ashton!
Year 8 BEST student, Ashton Gunn, has qualified to represent Western Australia at the 2026 Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships following an outstanding performance at the 2026 WA Cross Country Championships in Wanneroo. Athletics West confirmed that Ashton has met the selection criteria for the WA State Team, competing in the Under 15 Men's 4km event at the national championships in Ballarat, Victoria, in August 2026.
This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to Ashton's hard work, dedication and commitment to his sport. We wish him every success as he competes on the national stage and proudly represents both Western Australia and Bunbury SHS. ๐โโ๏ธ

The budding authors of Bunbury Senior High School have spent the last two days immersed in murder and mayhem with award-winning young adult cosy crime author Kate Emery.
Students took part in a number of short writing exercises, sharing their prose with the rest of the attendees.
We look forward to reading their future novels dedicated to their beloved high school English teachers!
