We are so proud of the way our Year 6 Health and Wellbeing Committee led Bullying No Way Day today. Each class learnt about the difference between being a bystander and an upstander, and how small acts can have a big impact when looking out for others.

Our Year 6 leaders chose an activity for each grade to highlight the importance of kindness, respect and belonging. Today, and every day, we say no to bullying at St Joseph’s.

Today, we started our Book Week celebrations early with an inspiring presentation and drawing lesson from author and illustrator Sami Bayly.

Sami shared her love of reading and writing with our students, as well as her impressive artistic abilities!

We look forward to continuing our Book Week celebrations with our parade on Monday. 📚

This week, our students celebrated NAIDOC Week with a special visit from Gumaraa, who shared Aboriginal cultures, histories and traditions through a range of engaging experiences.

Students participated in a Smoking Ceremony and Ochre Ceremony, Gunya building, spear throwing, traditional dance and bush tucker activities, providing a meaningful opportunity to learn about and appreciate the rich culture of Australia's First Nations Peoples.

We thank Gumaraa for this memorable experience and our Parents and Friends Association for their generous support in making it possible.

Today we celebrated the learning and achievements of our Year 6 students as they proudly showcased their incredible work at the History Expo for students, staff and families.

A wave of green and gold swept over SJB today to cheer on our CommBank Socceroos ⚽️🇦🇺💚💛

Thank you to the firefighters from Bulli Fire Station for visiting K-6 today! Students learnt how to “get down low and go, go, go” when escaping a fire, the importance of having a safe meeting point at their home and how to call 000. Our students even have some homework - to ask their parents and carers to test their smoke alarms together!

Students and staff were also lucky enough to test out some fire and rescue equipment!

Thank you, Bulli Fire Station, for sharing your time, knowledge and helping our students learn how to stay safe. 🔥🚒🧯

Last night, our St Joseph’s School Choir proudly competed in the City of Wollongong Eisteddfod, and what a sensational evening it was!

The children were recognised for their hard work and dedication, achieving an outstanding 2nd Place. We are incredibly proud of the commitment, enthusiasm, and pride they showed while representing our school.

Thank you to all of our choir members. It was a pleasure and privilege to watch you grow and perform with such confidence and joy.

A special thank you to our families and St Joseph’s staff for their wonderful support on the night. Your encouragement means so much to our students.

Congratulations to our amazing choir on this fantastic achievement. It was a wonderful evening and a proud moment for our school community!
