Thank you to the firefighters from Bulli Fire Station for visiting K-6 today! Students learnt how to “get down low and go, go, go” when escaping a fire, the importance of having a safe meeting point at their home and how to call 000. Our students even have some homework - to ask their parents and carers to test their smoke alarms together!

Students and staff were also lucky enough to test out some fire and rescue equipment!

Thank you, Bulli Fire Station, for sharing your time, knowledge and helping our students learn how to stay safe. 🔥🚒🧯

Last night, our St Joseph’s School Choir proudly competed in the City of Wollongong Eisteddfod, and what a sensational evening it was!

The children were recognised for their hard work and dedication, achieving an outstanding 2nd Place. We are incredibly proud of the commitment, enthusiasm, and pride they showed while representing our school.

Thank you to all of our choir members. It was a pleasure and privilege to watch you grow and perform with such confidence and joy.

A special thank you to our families and St Joseph’s staff for their wonderful support on the night. Your encouragement means so much to our students.

Congratulations to our amazing choir on this fantastic achievement. It was a wonderful evening and a proud moment for our school community!

Today we celebrate the ones who care,
Who show us kindness, always there.

For mums, for grandmas, big or small,
For those who’ve chosen to love us all.
For foster mums and guiding hands,
For those who help us understand,
For those we miss but hold so near,
Whose love still shines from year to year.

And those who dream of one day too,
To share a love so strong and true,
We thank you all for what you do,
Today, we celebrate you.

A Mother’s love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain.

It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away.

It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking.

It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems .

It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation .

A many splendored miracle
Some cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.

Thank you to Mrs Percival for sharing a beautiful reflection and for all our St Joseph’s mums for everything you do to make St Joseph’s what it is!

The spirit of remembrance was truly alive at the Wollongong Combined ANZAC Day Assembly, where our Vice Captains proudly represented St Joseph’s and were invited to lay a wreath in honour of the fallen.

Seeing the next generation lead with such reverence serves as a powerful reminder that service lives in our daily commitment to support one another through small, intentional acts. Lest we forget.

Lest we forget.
Today, we join the nation in a solemn reflection as we commemorate ANZAC Day 2026.

🕊️ A Moment of Reflection:
Yesterday, our school community gathered for a beautiful and moving liturgy led by our Year 5 students. Their leadership and reverence set a powerful tone for our commemorations, reminding us all of the importance of the next generation.

📜 Local Stories, Lasting Legacies:
We were deeply honored to welcome Tony Bulger and Mark Adamson from the Woonona/Bulli RSL Sub-branch. As our special guests, they shared the poignant local story of the Fletcher family, bringing the history of our own backyard to life and reminding us of the personal sacrifices made by families in our community.

🌅 Spirit of the Anzacs:
A heartfelt thank you to all our students and families who rose early to attend the Dawn Service at both Bulli and Thirroul this morning. Seeing our school colours and being invited to lay a wreath was a proud moment.

We also wish to acknowledge and thank the many families within our own school community who are current or former members of the Australian Defence Force. We are grateful for your ongoing service and sacrifice.

“ They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them."

Our students truly channelled their inner polymaths yesterday!

16 of our dedicated students represented St Joseph’s Bulli at the Da Vinci Decathlon, accompanied by Mrs. Pirie and Mrs. Fursey. Both our Year 5 and Year 6 teams demonstrated incredible focus and stamina as they competed across 10 rigorous disciplines, including Science, Mathematics, Code Breaking, and Engineering.

We are thrilled to announce that our Year 5 team secured 1st Place in both Art and Poetry and Ideation!

The students were certainly challenged and we couldn't be prouder of the teamwork and dedication shown by every student. Congratulations to all involved!

Today is Good Friday, a day of profound silence and reflection as we journey through the Easter Triduum.

The atmosphere in our hall yesterday was incredibly solemn as our Year 6 students presented the Stations of the Cross. With grace and maturity, they led our school community through the final steps of Jesus’ passion, reminding us all of the depth of this sacrifice.

As we move through the stillness of this day and into the hope of the weekend, we thank our Year 6 leaders for helping us dwell in such meaningful prayer. 🕯️🙏
