Have you heard? The Captains Lounge is about to launch.

We’re inviting former Marcellin College student leaders back to campus for the very first Captains Lounge event.

Open to former College, Junior, House and Academic Captains and Vice Captains, the Captains Lounge is a new alumni community designed to reconnect past leaders, build networks and create new opportunities to stay involved with the College.

Say cheese! Meet our Class of 2032.

Our future Year 7 students were on campus over the weekend for their academic testing, taking another step towards beginning their Marcellin College journey in 2027.

They did a great job and we’re looking forward to officially welcoming them to the College next year.

Well done! We look forward to seeing you back on campus on Transition Day later this year.

Our Functions Room has been busy the last two days as our Parent & Son Cooking Classes returned for two great evenings of gastronomy with plenty of laughs along the way.

Guided by chef Paul De Noury, families rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into preparing a three-course Moroccan feast featuring Potato Ci**rs with Sumac Yoghurt, Moroccan Chicken with Cous Cous and Orange Blossom Tartlets.

Beyond the food, it was a great chance for our boys and their parents and carers to spend some quality time together, build confidence in the kitchen and pick up a few useful skills along the way.

The classes also gave families a relaxed way to meet other members of the Marcellin College community, while the boys had the chance to mix with students outside their usual friendship groups and the occasional cooking mishap was all part of the experience.

A big thank you to Paul and everyone who helped make the two nights such an enjoyable experience.

Fathers of Year 8–10 students are invited to join us at 7pm this Thursday, 27 August in the College Atrium for an evening with Marcellin Old Collegian Patrick O’Callaghan (Class of 2004).

Patrick’s journey since leaving Marcellin College has been anything but ordinary.

From volunteering as a teacher in rural South Africa, to cycling 8,000km across West Africa, founding The Impact Tour and spending more than 15 years working across philanthropy and social entrepreneurship, Patrick has built a career around creating positive change.

Today, he is a Senior Development Advisor at the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, where his team has raised more than $15 million to help protect children from violence and trauma. He is also Founder of The Impact Tour and Senior Coach of Marcellin OCFC.

Patrick will share stories from his experiences and explore what it takes to build strong communities, set high standards, create a sense of belonging and bring the best out of the people around us.

It promises to be a great night for our Year 8–10 fathers. We’d love to see you there.

While students and staff enjoyed a well-earned day off today, work on our new Champagnat Court didn’t stop.

The team was busy taking care of business, with another day of progress bringing us one step closer to the finished product.

Congratulations to our Intermediate Concert Band, who recently performed at the Victorian School Music Festival (VSMF) and came away with a Silver Award.

A great result for the group and a reward for all the work they’ve been putting in throughout the year.

Science Week took over at lunchtime today.

Students headed into the Science labs at lunch today to check out a range of experiments and hands-on activities as part of our Science Fair.

There was lots to see, with some eye-catching demonstrations drawing a crowd and giving students the chance to get involved and see science up close.

This year’s National Science Week theme, ‘Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All’, is all about where curiosity can lead when we keep asking questions and exploring.

There’s still plenty more to come as Science Week continues across the College.

Yes Chef!

Our Year 11 students were in the kitchen today with Chef Paul Le Noury, getting stuck into a hands-on cooking session and picking up a few new skills along the way.

Paul will be back next week for our Parent & Son Moroccan Cooking Classes on Monday, 24 and Tuesday, 25 August.
