👀🦷 Healthy Eyes & Happy Smiles! 💙

We were excited to welcome some very special visitors to preschool! STEPS Vision joined us for their annual visit, providing free vision checks for children who are eligible. 👀✨

We also welcomed the wonderful team from My Smile Heroes, who offered optional dental check-ups for children whose families chose to participate. 🪥🦷

These visits provide a wonderful opportunity for children to become familiar with eye and dental health in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment. We loved seeing the children’s curiosity and confidence as they took part! 💙😊

💙 Jeans for Genes Day 2026 💙

What an incredible day we had celebrating Jeans for Genes Day! 👖🧬

A huge congratulations to the winner of our Guess the Bits and Bobs Jar, who guessed the exact number of 159! 🎉 We can't wait to surprise them with the exciting news when they return to preschool.

We also have a fantastic runner-up prize, kindly donated by Pizza Pit. 🍕 Thank you for your generosity! We’re looking forward to presenting that prize when the lucky winner is back at preschool too!

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful families who participated, donated, and supported this special cause. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make the day so much fun for everyone.

We are absolutely amazed to share that we've raised an incredible $633! 💙 Every dollar will help support vital research into children's genetic diseases, and we couldn't have done it without our amazing preschool community.

💙👖We're Supporting Jeans for Genes Day!👖💙

At Budgewoi Preschool, we're proud to be supporting Jeans for Genes Day and helping raise awareness for children living with genetic conditions.

On Thursday, 6th August, our educators and children are invited to wear their favourite pair of jeans to preschool as we show our support for this wonderful cause. We'll also be taking part in a range of fun activities throughout the service, including our Bits & Bobs Guessing Jar, where families can have a go at guessing how many items are inside for the chance to win a prize!

In the Lake Room, the children have been exploring their creativity through a variety of art experiences.

Children have been learning about still life art, carefully painting bowls of fruit and observing details such as shape, colour, and texture. They have also created their own representational bird drawings, inspired by a story we shared together, using their imagination and developing their drawing skills.

We love seeing the children's unique ideas and artistic talents come to life through their artwork!

🚀✨ Space Exploration ✨🚀

This term, the children in the Ocean Room have been exploring and learning about all things space! They investigated rocket ships, astronauts, planets, stars, the moon, the sun and the solar system through a range of hands-on experiences.

To extend their learning, we transformed our dramatic play area into a space station, which has been a busy and popular area for the children. Through imaginative play, the children took on the roles of astronauts, worked together on space missions, and shared their ideas about life in space.

This learning supported the children to become confident and involved learners as they explored, questioned, created, and collaborated with their peers. We have loved watching their imaginations soar throughout this exciting space adventure!

Last week we were excited to welcome Ryka, who shared meaningful Indigenous perspectives and cultural experiences with the children. Ryka brought along a variety of traditional Indigenous instruments and cultural items, thoughtfully explaining their purpose and significance within Indigenous culture.
The children enjoyed learning new songs, exploring the different instruments, and listening to the beautiful sounds of the didgeridoo. This was a rich and engaging learning experience that supported the children’s understanding, appreciation, and respect for Indigenous culture and traditions.

🐝 Yesterday for World Bee Day, our preschool children enjoyed learning all about bees and the important role they play in our environment. Together we read a story, explored how bees help our world, and discussed why we need to care for them. To finish our learning experience, the children created their very own adorable bees using their handprints! 💛🖤
