Soundwave Music Tuition offers a variety of services ranging from beginner music lessons to songwriting and starting a band (see full list below). With over 20 years experience as a private music teacher and professional musician, Tanya at SWMT is committed to catering lessons to individual interests and learning needs. Playing music should be fun and definitely should not feel like a chore, so a

Tanya is fully accredited with a Bachelor of Music - graduating at Western Sydney University with a Distinction and is currently undergoing a Masters of Teaching (Secondary) at The University of New England. With an added passion for equality and inclusivity, Soundwave Music Tuition takes pride in being a safe space for all LGBTQIA+ people and encourages individuals from all backgrounds to get in touch if they are interested in the services SWMT has to offer. Music teachers Stacey and Tanya from Soundwave Music Tuition teamed up with Natalie Carboni to perform this number at Elevate, a showcase of student talent. This event was hosted and produced by Natalie Carboni - Vocal, Music and Performance Tuition and featured both students of Natalie’s and Tanya’s from SWMT.

7yr old Lou rocking out with teachers Tanya & Stacey at our SWMT Budgewoi Studio! This was a huge proud teacher moment, it was Lou’s first time ever jamming in a band. He’s been loving stomping on that distortion and going hard in the chorus.

At SWMT we are really passionate about students having autonomy over their musical journey. They choose what they want to learn, how they want to perform and we guide them and strive to provide a safe space for all learning styles. We love music and feel so privileged to be a part of the next generation creating incredible art.

Check out this video of 13 year old student Jessica performing “When It Ends” by Avery Lynch & JORDY. Jessica is a super hard worker when it comes to her music, she has musicality beyond her years and never ceases to amaze us with her talent. This is such a beautiful version of this song with added piano parts to make the chorus a little more challenging.

Jessica is a true inspiration to aspiring musicians.

When we filmed this performance of me jamming with my student Noah (bass) back in December 2022, I asked him if it would be ok to post the video to my teaching page. Unfortunately, at only 14 years of age the world tragically lost Noah on January 26th - before I got to post this video. As you can see, Noah was super talented and had so much potential to do anything he wanted. He was a committed student who never failed to challenge me with songs I’d never heard before and he exposed me to so many new bands and artists.

I have set up a GoFundMe for Noah’s family to try and help ease the financial burden of giving him the send off he deserves. If you have the means, please click the link in the comments section to donate. Alternatively, if you can support by sharing with your networks I’d be forever grateful.

Noah made me a better teacher, a better person and he will live in my head and my heart forever. He made me feel so lucky to do what I do and for that, I cannot thank him enough.

Helen was our first student to attend our Budgewoi studio. She came to us as a total beginner and is wowing us with how fast she has picked up the piano and her ability to read and play chords. In just three weeks she has two songs down and is confidently jamming out with tutor Tanya accompanying her on drums. An absolute natural with her rhythm and timing and a pleasure to teach! Thank you for choosing SWMT Helen, we are excited to be a part of your musical journey 🤘🏼
