Often the things that give us pleasure immediately are not healthy for us in the long run. We get the dopamine kick from little pleasure but it may end up hurting us over time or taking us away from where we want to be. Think about where you want to be in the long term, and then take action to drive you towards that, irrespective of whether that be a hard or easy thing, because you know that this will give you a lasting, satisfying fulfilment in the long run.

It appears that as little as 16 minutes of exercise, performed in 4 lots of 4-minute intervals, done twice a week, in 70-year olds, not only reduced their risk of death, but also increased their quality of life in both the physical and mental realms.
