It’s National Volunteer Week - Your Year to Volunteer

This week, we celebrate and thank all volunteers who generously give their time to support and strengthen our communities. Your dedication, care, and passion make a real difference.

At INLLEN, we rely on the support of hundreds of volunteers each year to help empower young people and create positive change across Melbourne’s inner north. Your enthusiasm, experience, and commitment are truly valued and appreciated.

Whether you’re mentoring a young person through career decisions, sharing your industry insights as a guest speaker, supporting students through mock interviews, or helping learner drivers complete their 120 hours behind the wheel, your contribution has a lasting impact.

Thank you to every volunteer who helps young people build confidence, skills, and pathways for the future.

This week we kicked off two VME Mentoring Matters programs with induction days at Coburg High School and Sydney Road Community School.

Over the next 10 weeks, students will connect with industry mentors, gain insights into the world of work, and build the confidence and skills to take their next step.

Huge thanks to our volunteer mentors for stepping up and making this program possible.

Looking forward to seeing the connections and growth that come out of this program.

INLLEN's VME is currently recruiting Volunteer Mentors for Terms 2 and 3 to support students as they explore career aspirations and plan their next steps. Mentors share industry knowledge, practical insights and life experience to help young people build confidence and clarity about their future.

We had the pleasure of bringing together our amazing Merri-bek L2P and VME mentors, along with our program partners, for a special celebration at RUMI Restaurant.

The evening was our way of saying thank you - for your time, your commitment, and the genuine care you bring to the lives of young people in our programs.

It was inspiring to be surrounded by so many like-minded locals who share a passion for supporting young people on their journeys.

A huge thank you to Jo and the team at Rumi for the warm hospitality, incredible food, and wonderful service. We’re truly grateful for your support.
