Introducing Xompax, the world-class dark prog and psytech producer and owner of Cable Craft.

Xompax specialises in a surreal blend of musicality and sci-fi modular sound design. Xompax is going to teach us how he achieves these next level sounds through a blend of software and hardware modular synthesis and sample manipulation.

Have you ever thought modular synths are way too expensive and inaccessible? We sure have! Xompax is going to show us affordable (and free) software solutions and alternatives that we can use to explore this fascinating form of synthesis. He may also bring a couple of hardware toys along for those interested in where to start with building their own modular synth.

As always, our masterclasses encourage you to ask questions, so if you have any burning questions for the maestro, bring them along, and he'll be happy to answer them.

With a career spanning decades, Slip has produced electronic psychedelic music in countless forms. His debut on Zenon Records showcased his distinct style—melodic grooves infused with organic, self-recorded sounds. His musical journey began in 1997 with classical training on the silver flute and piano, later expanding to guitar, drums, and clarinet, all of which subtly appear in his productions.

In this workshop, Slip Hypnotic will focus on the art of musical storytelling through composition in psychedelic dance music. You’ll dive into arrangement and sound design, and gain tips and tricks for boosting your creativity. Sektion Sound is back with another Ableton Live workshop, this time taught by our very own, Scionaugh.

Actually finishing a song is one of the biggest struggles for producers. How do you even know when a song is done? In this workshop, Scionaugh will describe a systematic and repeatable approach to finishing songs. From opening a fresh project to ending with a finished mix down, he will describe his workflow and how to identify and overcome the most common pitfalls that get in the way of reaching the finish line. The workshop will give you a step-by-step approach for creating a song from start to finish that allows you to maintain momentum.

The outline of the lesson is as follows:

How to start strong - Capture the soul of your song

How to turn a loop into a song - Song structure and progression

How get a consistent flow of energy throughout the track - Transitions and sweeps

How and when to add details - Ear candy and fills

How to be confident in your mix - Referencing and mix-down techniques

The workshop will run for 2 hours with 30 minutes before and after the presentation for socialising and q&a.
