So how does dancing with another person really make you feel?

"This is was another favourite part of mine. It felt so heart opening to be witnessed and witness another. It brought up so much love in my heart I was left in tears of connection."

Dhamma Dance = relational mindfulness in movement.

How to explain what I do to my mother?

The beautiful blend of authentic movement and the Buddha's teachings.

Well here is one attempt...

Authentic Movement invites us to listen for the impulse.

Somatic awareness helps us feel it.

Mindfulness helps us know it.

Dhamma invites us to investigate what conditions it.

And wisdom asks us not to cling to it.

So movement becomes a way of discovering:

This arises.
This moves.
This changes.
This passes.

And perhaps, most importantly:

It doesn’t have to become “me” or “mine”.

This is at the heart of Dhamma Dance.

Movement not just as expression, but as a way of directly exploring how experience arises, moves and changes.

🌿 Unfold. Move. Come home.

What happens when we give?
What happens when we receive?
And what happens when we loosen our grip?

Tonight at the Flowing Mountain Insight Meditation Group I will explore this beautiful topic of dāna or generosity as a Buddhist practice and pāramī, and cāga, the art of letting go.

Come and join for a gentle evening of Dhamma, meditation and an relational enquiry practice to explore generosity not just as something we do, but as a pathway to greater freedom.

I am back from two weeks in the mountains on retreat. Silent time. 🌿

Two weeks of slowing down, listening deeply and remembering:

Trust the BODY.
Let the beauty in.
You are made for JOY. 💛

And I thought of you, my community of dancers, often.

The dancing, the joy, the tears, the beautiful hearts that gather each month.

Feeling very grateful to be dancing each other home🌿

Under the Figs, is where I will be.

There is a place within each of us that remembers how to be still.

It doesn't need fixing.
It doesn't need striving.
It simply waits for us to slow down enough to listen.

Beneath the shelter of the fig trees, we'll spend a day moving between silence and movement, stillness and walking, inquiry and rest.

Together we'll create the conditions for the nervous system to soften, the heart to open, and awareness to awaken to the beauty that has been here all along.

Held by nature and the quiet companionship of community, this is an invitation to step out of the busyness of everyday life and come home to the wisdom of your own body, heart and mind.

Join Flowing Mountain Insight Meditation (aka Lizzie Turnbull, Anna McKay, Nick Lavery and me) for a nourishing day of Insight Meditation, Movement Meditation and gentle inquiry.

Whether you're new to meditation or have an established practice, you are warmly welcome.

If you've been thinking, "I really need to slow down," perhaps this is your sign.

This Saturday we gather again for Dhamma Dance.

For two hours there is nowhere to be, nothing to achieve, no one to become.

Just an opportunity to breathe a little deeper, move in the way your body longs to move, and reconnect with the quiet wisdom that lives within you.

Together we'll explore the light and the dark, the busy places and the still ones, meeting whatever arises with curiosity and kindness.

If your heart has been whispering, "I need this," come join us.

Sometimes the best moments are the ones that don’t make it onto social media…

I’ve been so immersed in the beauty of teaching Dhamma Dance this past month on two silent Insight Meditation retreats: moving together, witnessing each other, feeling the wisdom of the body, and remembering the simple joy of being human.

And this Saturday we gather again.

Movement. Nature. Grass beneath our feet. Warm bodies. Kind eyes. Open hearts.

See you there 🌿
