💛💙 MINION DAY FOR BOOK WEEK! 💙💛

Minions, Minions everywhere! 🍌💛 What a fun-filled day we had celebrating Book Week with our favourite little yellow friends!

Our children got creative with banana decorating, whipped up some delicious banana cake, designed their very own Minion box costumes, and made adorable Minions with playdough! 🍌🎨🧁

And the excitement didn’t stop there… we even had a visit from a BIG Minion! 💛 He was quickly put to work helping to cook our lunch – because every Minion knows you have to earn your bananas! 😂👨‍🍳🍌

Our centre was also filled with so many wonderful Book Week characters, including The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛, Demon Hunters, princesses, superheroes and many more! 📚✨

It was a day full of imagination, creativity, laughter and a whole lot of Book Week magic! 💫📖

📚✨ BOOK WEEK – DAYS 1 & 2! ✨📚

What an absolutely magical start to Book Week at Cubby Care Browns Plains! 🌈📖

Our centre has been transformed into a world of imagination, with our amazing children and educators bringing their favourite characters to life! 💫

We’ve had Mario & Luigi 🍄, Demon Hunters ⚔️, Care Bears 🧸, Dorothy & the Lion 🦁, beautiful princesses 👑, Spider-Man 🕷️, Woody 🤠, Buzz Lightyear 🚀, Jessie 🤠 and SO many more wonderful characters joining us!

From magical adventures to superhero rescues and Toy Story adventures, our children have been using their imaginations, sharing their favourite stories and celebrating the wonderful world of books together. ❤️📚

There have been smiles, laughter, dancing, storytelling and plenty of “Look who I am!” moments! 😍

And this is only Day 1 & 2… we can’t wait to see what characters and adventures the rest of Book Week brings! 🎭✨

🌳🍄 Bush Kindy Adventures! 🍄🌳

Today our little explorers headed out into the community for a Bush Kindy adventure! 🌿

Before we set off, we talked about staying safe, listening to educators and walking together. Along the way, we stopped to listen to the birds, feel the textures of tree bark, observe plants and look at the water beneath the bridge. 🐦🌱💧

The children even spotted rubbish in the water, sparking a great conversation about caring for and protecting our local environment. 🌏💚

Our walk continued to the playground, where excitement quickly took over! They got to run, kick balls, play games and chase their friends.

What a wonderful day of movement, discovery, connection and learning in nature.

🌟 Keeping Our Little Ones Safe! ❤️ 🌟

Last night our amazing team came together to complete their First Aid & CPR training with All Care First Aid! 🩹❤️‍🩹

Keeping our knowledge and skills up to date is such an important part of providing a safe and nurturing environment for every child in our care. Our educators refreshed their skills, practised emergency response techniques and strengthened their confidence in knowing what to do when it matters most.

We are so proud of our team for giving up their evening to continue learning, growing and putting children’s safety first. A huge thank you to Gary who came with his wealth of knowledge and patience to teach us all we know.👏

😁🦷 Dental Week Has Begun! 🦷😁

What a fantastic start to Dental Week! The children have been busy becoming little dentists while learning all about the importance of keeping our teeth healthy and clean.

Miss Coral created some amazing animal mouths for the children to explore. Using playdough as "germs" and pictures of different foods, the children filled the animals' mouths before using toothbrushes to brush away the germs. This hands-on experience helped them understand why we brush our teeth every day and how brushing removes food and plaque to keep our smiles healthy.

Another favourite activity was drawing "plaque" onto giant teeth with whiteboard markers before using sponges to brush them clean until they sparkled. As they scrubbed, the children practised the circular brushing motions we use when cleaning our own teeth while developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Through playful, hands-on learning, the children are discovering healthy habits, building independence, and learning how taking care of our teeth helps keep our bodies healthy too. We can't wait to see what the rest of Dental Week brings! 🪥✨

🔪 Little Explorers: Developing Our Knife Skills 🌿

Today our Kindy children became curious little scientists after discovering some soft branches that had fallen from one of our trees. One child wondered, "What's inside?" and asked if they could carefully cut one open to investigate.

With educator supervision, the children gathered around a cutting board and used child-safe knives to carefully slice through the branches. They worked patiently, using controlled movements and persistence as they cut the sticks into smaller pieces. As they explored further, they pulled the branches apart and were excited to discover a soft centre and tiny seed-like pieces hidden inside!

This hands-on investigation sparked lots of conversations, questions and predictions as the children observed, compared and discussed what they found. They remained engaged for over half an hour, demonstrating wonderful concentration, problem-solving and perseverance as they continued experimenting until there was nothing left to explore.

Experiences like these help children build fine motor strength, hand-eye coordination and safe knife-handling skills while encouraging curiosity about the natural world. We love seeing the children's questions lead to meaningful learning and discovery! 🌱🔍

🌟 Morning Fun at Kindy! 🌟

What a wonderful morning of play, imagination and discovery! The children immersed themselves in a variety of engaging experiences, following their interests and exploring the world around them through play.

Our dress-up area was buzzing with excitement as the children transformed into Princesses, Animals, Dinosaurs and more, using their imaginations to create stories and take on different roles. In the home corner, little chefs were busy preparing delicious pretend meals, serving their friends and practising communication, cooperation and turn-taking.

The rice sensory tray was another favourite, where the children scooped, poured, sifted and searched through the rice using a range of tools and containers. This sensory experience supported fine motor development, concentration and early mathematical concepts such as measuring, filling and emptying.

Throughout the morning, laughter, conversations and creativity filled the room as the children explored, created, collaborated and learned together. It's always wonderful to see how much learning happens through purposeful play while friendships continue to grow.

🩷 Pom Pom Water Play 🩵

Today our Kindy children enjoyed a wonderful sensory and STEM experience with our Pom Pom Water Tray!

The children were so excited to finally use the rainwater they had collected and carefully saved from a few weeks ago. Using hand pumps, they worked hard to pump the water into jars before pouring it into the tray, strengthening their hand muscles and developing coordination along the way.

Once the tray was ready, the children became little scientists and explorers! They used tweezers, scoops and ice cube trays to carefully transfer the colourful pom poms into bowls, practising their fine motor skills, concentration and hand-eye coordination. As the play continued, they added a variety of loose parts, mixing, experimenting and creating their own imaginative concoctions.

Through this child-led experience, the children explored problem-solving, creativity, early science concepts, and mathematical language as they compared sizes, counted, sorted and transferred materials. Most importantly, they worked together, shared ideas and had so much fun learning through play!

What a fantastic way to turn a simple tray of water into a day full of discovery! 💧🌈

🥼 PJ Day Fun! 🥼💤🍿

What a jam-packed day of fun we had celebrating PJ Day on Friday! Everyone came dressed in their favourite cosy pyjamas, making the centre feel extra warm and comfy. 🧸💛

Our movie session was a big hit, especially with delicious popcorn to enjoy while we watched together! 🍿🎬 But the fun didn't stop there—we also had plenty of exciting activities for the children to explore, create and play throughout the day.

Miss Nessa brought out her magical finger puppets and felt stories, filling the room with songs, laughter and animated story adventures. 🎭🎶📚 Meanwhile, our Kindy children made the most of the beautiful weather, climbing, building and challenging themselves in the outdoor yard. 🌿🛝🏗️

There were smiles, giggles and happy memories everywhere we looked. Thank you to all our wonderful families for helping make PJ Day such a fun and cosy celebration! 💙✨

🧸 Teddy Bear's Picnic 🧸

We've had such a huge week last week with so much going on. On Thursday we had a Teddy Bear's Picnic with our Music teacher Miss Jess, singing all songs about Bears. Throughout the day we engaged in "beary cool" activities and made some yummy biscuits.

All the children brought in their favourite bears or stuffed toys to enjoy a picnic for afternoon tea 🍰
