Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Our centre was bursting with spots, giggles and puppy themed fun as the children dressed up like the beloved 101 Dalmatians. Together we explored imaginative play, friendship and storytelling while our little “puppies” wagged, scampered and showed off their unique spots.

🌿🪴 Bunnings Excursion 🪴🌿

How fascinating is learning about seeds, how they grow and what they need to support that growth?

As an extension of learning about seeds and how plants grow, the Kindergarten children enjoyed an exciting excursion to Bunnings! 🚜

During the visit, the children explored a variety of plants, seeds, and gardening materials, helping them connect their classroom learning to real-world experiences.
They learned about the conditions plants need to grow, including sunlight, water, soil, and care, while observing different stages of plant growth. 🌱

The excursion encouraged the children to ask questions, share their knowledge, and develop a deeper understanding of the life cycle of plants. This experience supported their curiosity about the natural world and inspired them to continue caring for and observing plants in our learning environment. 🪴

Our un-bird-lievably awesome Kindergarten children have been busy investigating all things birds! After discussing what materials could be used to make birds, they decided on; salt dough, leaves and feathers.

During the process they shared what kind of birds they were making.
F said " mine is a baby bird"
A said " It's a googly eye"
P said " this is a flat bird"

How cute and cheeky do all the different birdies look? 🥰
