Sorry families we had planned to have Bookish Play in the Park this week (Town Beach Water Park) but we are still away taking some extra family time.

For those of you that came along to this mornings library session… What mess?! 😂

It took two vacuums, a broom and couple of sponges to get our space looking like new again. To me that’s a pretty clear indicator the children had fun exploring the Roadworks sensory tray today.

Happy Children’s week! We will not be at the library this Wednesday but you are more than welcome to head on down and share some books with your little ones in air conditioned comfort. We will be at the Children’s week celebrations down at Guwarr/Town Beach this Friday.

There is also a children’s week dance party TODAY! hosted by Jack and Jill Playgroup Broome. (See flyer below).

What a wonderful morning spent sharing the joys of storytelling in the shady gardens at Magabala Books.

Through bookish play, the children helped me recreate the ancestral creation story of the Trouwerner people in Sky Country by Aunty Patsy Cameron and Lisa Kennedy.

The Broome Early Years Network has two more days of Book Week joy for Broome families. Join me again tomorrow at the Broome Public Library to explore some of the 2024 Shortlisted Early Years books and then on Thursday with the amazing Hippy Broome at Yawuru.

Recently, our staff participated in AEDC (Australian Early Development Census) training in Perth, to understand how so many aspects of our local government activities can be informed by the insights that can be gained from the AEDC data.
