Although there is no immediate danger you need to start preparing for dangerous weather and keep up to date.

WHAT TO DO

Get ready for dangerous weather by preparing your home inside and out. Secure boats, caravans, trailers, garden sheds, outdoor furniture, rainwater tanks, LPG bottles, loose material and rubbish around your home and workplace.

Travellers, visitors, tourists and locals should monitor weather conditions and review their travel within the warning area.

Ensure your emergency kit is complete and check your family knows what to do.

Your emergency kit should include canned food and water to last five to seven days, a first aid kit, medication, cash and a battery-operated radio and spare batteries to listen to warnings.

Know the cyclone warning levels and the steps that must be taken for each level.

Monitor the Emergency WA website.

A new year and new resolutions. Our amazing participant Dunba has resolved to lose some weight. He has already shed 5 kilos since November, now he is set himself the challenge to learn to read food labels carefully so he can make good nutrition choices to support his goal. Go Dunba! Our Trainer Emma Younghad a visitor a couple weeks ago. Zoe Campbell will be helping out Emma from time to time now that Djarindjin Aboriginal Corporation has taken over funding the program. We are pretty excited about DAC's decision because it means the community getting what they need from the program. Come and have a chat to Emma or Vincent McKenzie about the program to see if we can work with you to achieve your goal.

Djarandji Aboriginal Corporation in the Dampier Peninsula provides a wide range of services to the local community, often using its own airport.
