Our sustained improvement in attendance reflects our students’ strong sense of wellbeing, connection and belonging. By creating a safe, inclusive and engaging school environment, students feel valued, supported and motivated to attend, participate and learn.

Maintaining attendance above 90% for six consecutive terms demonstrates the strength of these relationships and our commitment to ensuring every student feels they belong at BPS.

Our Friendship Bench has arrived! 🪑💙

A wonderful initiative driven by our Student Parliament, who moved a motion to create a dedicated space where students can connect, make friends and ensure no one feels alone.

This week, we celebrate Children’s Book Week and Wear It Purple Day — two wonderful opportunities to celebrate creativity, inclusion, belonging and the joy of being ourselves. 💜📚

This week, BPS students returned to Salt Pan as part of Science Week, reconnecting with an important part of our local environment and community.

Students were excited to see the trees and shrubs they planted 12 months ago and reflect on how the area has changed. They explored ways we can continue to care for, maintain and regenerate Salt Pan, helping to protect this special place for future generations of the Brooklyn community.

A big thank you to Mrs Turner for organising this wonderful learning experience and giving our students the opportunity to learn, connect and make a difference in our local environment. 🌿🌱

Children's Book Week is almost here! 🎶📚

Book week runs all of Week 6 from 22 August 2026.

To celebrate this year's Children's Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories, Brooklyn Public School will be holding our annual Book Parade on Tuesday 25 August at 9:15am under the COLA. Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us for this special celebration.

Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character and help bring the magic of stories to life.

Our Scholastic Book Fair will also be running throughout the week in the school library, giving families the opportunity to discover and purchase some fantastic new books. More information about the Book Fair, including opening times, will be shared next week.

We can't wait to celebrate the joy of reading with our school community! 📖✨

I had the best time on the weekend at the BPS P&C Trivia Hoedown.

A big thank you to Zaradine, Nick, Vidette, Venette, Hannah, Helen and all the people who helped set up or worked hard in the background for bringing the night together. All money raised goes towards our students and for that, I am eternally grateful.
