STEM in Action: The Goldfields Water Supply Scheme! π§
Our Year 7 students traded the classroom for an educational adventure at Mundaring Weir!
As part of their CoRE (STEM) learning, students dove deep into the incredible engineering design behind the historic Goldfields Water Supply Scheme. By observing the weir, pump stations, and pipeline firsthand, they explored:
βοΈ Hydraulic Engineering: How water is managed and moved across vast distances.
π οΈ Design Challenges: The technological and environmental hurdles of maintaining a large-scale system.
π Innovation & History: The enduring significance of this iconic WA project.
It was a fantastic day of connecting real-world engineering with environmental problem-solving. Way to go, Year 7s! ππ§

From Tuesday to Thursday this week, eight of our Year 9/10 students are participating in the Try-A-Trade program at the Rockingham TAFE Campus.
This three-day experience gives them a real taste of plastering, wall construction, and ceiling work. Theyβre getting hands-on with professional tools and materials, learning exactly what it takes to build, renovate, and design spaces with clean, professional edges. π§±πͺ
Itβs a fantastic opportunity to step out of comfort zones and pick up practical skills they can be proud of.
