Well that is a wrap for 2025! I was very proud of each and every student that performed in last nights little concert, you all did so well! and to all the parents and supporters that were there, Thank you, you guys are just as important as the performers, I honestly felt like I was at a rock concert with the amount of cheering and applause these kids received, what a great little music family we are growing into! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to each and every one of you! please make time to put your feet up and relax - but don't forget to get those kids to do at least a little bit of practice so they are ready for a busy and fun term 1 in 2026! Big Shout out to Grace and Zoe who hosted the show for you all those girls made my job a lot easier, to the students that were unwell and not able to make it hopefully you are all feeling much better soon... I appreciate each and everyone of my students and families and I honestly am looking forward to seeing you all in 2026. xoxo

Highly recommend for all and any students and families to attend the Broken Hill Civic Orchestras 50th Anniversary Concert this Sunday at the civic centre @ 2.30pm. Come along and support the orchestra but also be inspired with your own musical journey.. plus I might give out an award for any students that are able to pick out any of Miss Xanthes mistakes (but you have to take notes lol) it could be your turn to critic me ;) pop on over to the civic centre page and get your tickets or purchase them at the door, hopefully I'll see some familiar faces there

OK Parents and Students Tomorrow is the start of the Eisteddfod, Starting with Vocals in the morning - I have asked for the vocal kids to get there at 9 so they can get organised and have a quick practice prior to the event starting - Everyones music is handed in and organised so you will not need to head to the marshalling station. I will put my senior students Grace crannaford and Zoe Carapellotti in charge of the girls for the first 15 mins as I will be busy organising the event and volunteers, Please be patient with me and trust that I will get around to everything and everyone, the first morning is normally a little hectic for us all.

STUDENTS! I have explained it to you all before but at no point are you to be running around the civic centre this is including backstage. This also means that you should bring your inside voice and only use that. Even though you are young I expect you all to act professional on and off the stage :) Don't make me mad lol.. Come with positive attitudes and a smile, don't let the nerves get to you remember we are very lucky to have this opportunity HAVE FUN (but do it quietly)

Saturday 9.30am - Vocals
Saturday 2pm - Speech & Drama
Sunday 9.30am - Piano
Sunday 2pm - Instrumental

Doors will open 30 mins prior to events - Instructions will be provided by the Compere for all students! Competitors will be called up to the stage in sections just prior to the event starting.

Instrumental! same as other events, your music will already be handed in, just come prepared and dressed to impress, this should be a very short session due to the lack of numbers but it doesn't make it any less important.

Piano!!!! this is a busy day, all your sheet music is prepared unless I have asked you to bring a copy.. please make sure to bring your actual music and dress to impress :) Final Piano practice for those that can make it is Friday at 3.45 till 4.45pm.. A great chance to have a last practice.

Speech and Drama.. if all Students entered can please make sure they have a copy of their work.. if you are prepared reading, photocopy the section you are doing, same in recitation and speech. Poem for two pieces I have already.
