Students explored the gallery to discover their favourite artworks and experienced the immersive Mike Hewson: The Keys Under the Mat installation π β complete with a BBQ lunch!
Guided by teachers, students toured the Tony Albert exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art ποΈ and admired works by Outback Art Prize winner Abdul-Rahman Abdullah at the Chau Chak Wing Museum, Sydney Uni π.
The adventure included exhibitions from the Sydney Biennale and culminated with the spectacular Vivid Festival at Circular Quay π.

Last week, students from Broken Hill High School and Willyama High School had the exciting opportunity to participate in a targeted industry pathways program focused on automotive skills. Delivered by Axial Training and hosted in the dedicated automotive workshop at TAFE Broken Hill, students completed three units from a Cert III in Mechanical Technology and walked away with essential knowledge and practical experience across key areas of the industry. π οΈπ
The program placed strong emphasis on workplace safety, equipping participants with the know-how to create and maintain safe, productive workspaces. π¦Ίβ
In addition, students had the opportunity to develop practical skills in testing, charging, and replacing batteries and jump-starting vehicles β‘π, and also gained valuable hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and servicing ππ©, offering a well-rounded introduction to the day-to-day operations of an automotive workshop.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on learning experience, with many expressing enthusiasm about pursuing further training and careers in the automotive industry. ππΌ This targeted training initiative not only provided valuable skills but also inspired the next generation of automotive professionals from the Broken Hill community. π
