Winter Reflections
It's hard to believe we are already moving towards the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, ( and the day we welcomed our twin boys into the world 37 years ago-wow!). Nature reminds us that every season has its purpose.
Around us, leaves are changing colour and falling and trees are shedding what they no longer need. Branches are being pruned, gardens are slowing down, and the landscape seems quieter. Yet this is not an ending—it's a preparation. A time for rest, renewal, and gathering strength for the growth to come.
One amazing sight in winter , always, is the the citrus trees shining brightly. Oranges, lemons, grapefruits and mandarins bring a splash of sunshine to the garden, reminding us of the warmth and abundance of summer even on the coldest days.
As the days continue to shorten, perhaps there is an invitation here for us as well: to let go of what no longer serves us, to simplify, and to appreciate the small bursts of colour, joy, and nourishment that sustain us through the darker months.
It could also be a time when you start thinking about spring and decide it's time to book your place on our Permaculture Design Course! We have limited places, it's run on farm with local teachers, local food, local site visits but a global purpose. It's not just about meeting PDC Certificate Criteria; it's a chance to discover a sense of balance in your hectic life: more information here .https://www.permaculturedesign.com.au/permaculture-design-course
