ππβ Today, we celebrated "Thank a Responder Day" at Sirius College.
Our primary and secondary SRC (Students REpreentative Council) at Keysboroughhad the opportunity to share morning tea and conversations with local responders from Springvale Police Station, expressing their gratitude for the dedication, courage, and care they show our community every day.
A huge thank you to all of our first responders for the incredible work you do. Your service does not go unnoticed, and we are proud to recognise and celebrate you. π

Our VCE Business Management students recently went behind the scenes at a Chocolaterie to see how a successful manufacturing business operates. π«β¨
Guided by expert chocolatiers, students participated in a hands-on workshop, learning the art of chocolate making and creating their own delicious treats to take home.
By stepping onto the production floor, students gained valuable real-world insights into business operations, including production processes, resource management, waste minimisation, and how raw ingredients are transformed into high-quality products.
A fantastic opportunity to connect classroom theory with industry practice β and enjoy a sweet learning experience along the way!

Our Year 6 Religion and Values (RV) students recently had RV Reading Competition where participating students across our Sirius College competed. πβ¨
Representing Shepparton campus, Ridha Al-Roubaie, Dana Al-Roubaie, and Sarah Rashid demonstrated excellent teamwork and dedication as they prepared by studying Khadijah bint Khuwaylid and Hasan & Husayn ibn Ali.
In a closely contested competition, each team achieved an impressive results, where the 3rd place is just 2 points behind the 1st place. π
We are incredibly proud of our students' hard work, perseverance, and commitment throughout the competition.

Our Year 5 and 6 students recently enjoyed a Performing Arts excursion to Riverlinks Eastbank, where they attended an engaging and interactive string orchestra performance. π»β¨
Students experienced the power of live music while gaining a deeper appreciation for the creativity, expression, and teamwork behind every performance. A highlight of the day was the educational commentary and Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to interact with professional and emerging musicians.
It was a memorable experience that inspired curiosity, creativity, and a greater appreciation for the performing arts.

Our Year 3 and 4 students recently enjoyed an exciting excursion to the Discovery Science and Technology Centre in Bendigo. π¬β¨
From exploring interactive exhibits to participating in hands-on STEM activities and experiencing the Planetarium, students spent the day discovering, questioning, and learning through exploration.
It was wonderful to see so much curiosity, enthusiasm, and problem-solving in action, making the experience both educational and memorable.

Our Keysborough Campus Year 4 students had a blast putting their STEM learning into action through a series of exciting hands-on challenges. ποΈπ§
Working in teams, students built miniature billy karts, raced around the track, and designed their own wooden cars using nuts, bolts, and washers. Along the way, they applied their knowledge of forces and motion, thinking critically about how different forces affected their creations and activities.
A fantastic example of learning, teamwork, and creativity in action! β¨

Our Foundation students had a fantastic time at TwistED Science Echuca, exploring a range of interactive activities connected to their learning about forces. π¬β¨
On the exhibit floor, students investigated how forces work through hands-on experiences and engaging challenges. They also participated in a special push-and-pull workshop, where they applied the knowledge and skills developed during their STEM lessons in Term 2.
It was a fun and memorable day of discovery, curiosity, and learning beyond the classroom. π

Our Keysborough Campus Unit 1β2 Legal Studies students visited the Old Melbourne Gaol and Supreme Court of Victoria for a hands-on learning experience. βοΈ
Students explored the historic gaol, where Ned Kelly was imprisoned, toured the watchhouse, and participated in a culpable driving case at the Supreme Court.

Our Year 3 students recently visited the Discovery Centre Bendigo for a day of hands-on discovery and exploration. π¬β¨
During a lab session, students investigated how mixing different materials can absorb or release heat, bringing scientific concepts to life through practical experimentation. They also took on the vertical slide challenge to explore the effects of friction in a fun and engaging way.
The day included an exciting planetarium session, coding and LEGO-based building activities, and plenty of opportunities to interact with the centreβs science displays. Students thoroughly enjoyed experimenting, exploring, and learning through hands-on experiences.
