Your skills and experience deserve genuine recognition.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) provides an opportunity for experienced workers to have their existing skills assessed against nationally recognised qualifications.
At AIE, our RPL process is built on quality, integrity, and industry standards. We work closely with candidates to identify their skills and knowledge through evidence collection, competency conversations, workplace experience, and practical assessment where required.
A genuine RPL process includes:
✅ Consultation and guidance throughout the journey
✅ Evidence collection and skills verification
✅ Assessment against industry standards
✅ Support from experienced assessors
✅ Targeted gap training and further assessment where required
RPL isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about recognising the skills you’ve developed throughout your career through a thorough and structured assessment process. Where gaps are identified, additional training and assessment may be required to ensure competency meets industry and qualification standards.
Because real skills deserve real recognition.

Today I had the opportunity to attend the National Manufacturing Workforce Forum in Melbourne, bringing together leaders from industry, government, education and training to discuss the future of Australian manufacturing.
The conversations reinforced something many of us are seeing firsthand: Australia’s manufacturing future will be shaped not only by technology and investment, but by our ability to attract, develop and recognise skilled people.
It was encouraging to hear discussions on sovereign capability, advanced manufacturing, robotics, apprenticeships, workforce participation and the skills needed to support a rapidly changing industry.
A highlight of the day was connecting with industry leaders, exploring emerging technologies, and hearing different perspectives on how we can strengthen Australia’s manufacturing workforce for the years ahead.
Thank you to the Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance and the Jobs and Skills Council Manufacturing team for hosting such an important event and creating a platform for meaningful discussion.
At the Australian Institute of Engineering, we remain committed to working alongside industry to develop practical pathways that help build capability, recognise experience and support the next generation of manufacturing professionals.

🔧✨ AIE at Trade & Tech Fit 2026! ✨🔧
What an incredible experience at the Trade & Tech Fit Career Expo 2026!
The Australian Institute of Engineering was proud to be part of Victoria’s largest hands-on trade and technology expo, connecting with students and showcasing the exciting opportunities available in engineering and manufacturing. At our interactive booth, students rolled up their sleeves and got involved in a practical engineering activity, creating their very own mobile phone stands to take home. 🚀📱
It was inspiring to see so many students exploring new skills, asking questions, and discovering how hands-on learning can lead to rewarding career pathways in engineering and technology. The enthusiasm, creativity, and engagement throughout the event made it a memorable experience for everyone involved. Trade & Tech Fit continues to provide an outstanding platform for students to experience trades and technology firsthand and explore future career opportunities.
A big thank you to everyone who visited the AIE booth. We look forward to inspiring the next generation of skilled professionals!
